>> welcome back video from sacramento firefighters shows you thick smoke on the side of the free white turns out it was from a tesla battery fire. the fire department says the tesla was driving on highway 50 near rancho cordova on saturday when it caught fire. they had to use 6000 gallons of water to put out the flames. the driver said there had been zero damage to the tesla prior to the fire and luckily no one was hurt. state farm and progressive are now refusing to write new insurance policies on any kia and hyundai vehicles they say it is because those brands are too easy to steal. specifically because kia's and hind eyes manufactured between

here is a look at live doppler 7, the little storm we had earlier is gone so skies are clear and that of course is allowing temperatures to drop sharply and a freeze warning is in effect for all of our inland areas tonight until 9:00 tomorrow morning. temperatures will drop down to or below freezing in these coldest areas. a freeze chill will kill crops so protect people, pets plants and outdoor pipes. a freeze watch is in effect for the bay shoreline in the coast as well. the wind is quite gusty out there with 37 mph augustine napa 20 in novato 22 in hayward and that of course, these wind gusts are going to get stronger so that combined with the cold air makes it feel like we have a windchill effect here that we certainly do have a wind advisory affect for the north bay mountains in the inland valleys until 1 p.m. tomorrow. winds will be up to 50 miles per hour times even stronger in the higher peaks and wins at that

marketplace. >> the second i looked at the photo i knew it was my bike, these are my pedals, these are the aftermarket tires. >> he says the theft is believed to be part of an organized crime ring stealing high-end bikes in cities across the east bay, north bay and parts of san francisco. this video shows a group taking off of bikes for my home along ashbury street in the panhandle last august. the same thing happened to this man last week. it collects all six of my bikes were stolen. >> he lives in the city's triangle neighborhood and his six bikes worth around $30,000 are gone. >> this is a deliberate targeted pattern. >> police say this pattern seen with a string of burglaries involves suspects breaking into the garage by puncturing a hole in the class and using a rod to pull the emergency cord. >> with your garage door they take a coat hanger and slide it into the door through the plastic molding looking forward

to grab the cord. >> according to vance victims are reporting suspects drive off in a white van or suv after case in the neighborhood. between one to six people are usually involved. how quickly are the bike selling? >> super fast. it really fast. we have seen it stolen bikes disappear within an hour. >> investigators say the people reselling turn out to be familiar faces like in mcnamara's case. >> we have seen the sky at least twice. in december of 2022 we saw list and sell another stolen bike that was 100% matched by the victim. >> he says the person that posted the ad to sell his bike to the same thing with these bike stolen from the snowy valley garage in december of last year. >> this is a job for some people. robbing people and taking these bikes and selling them and moving them from state to state.
