>> building a better bay area. moving forward, finding better solutions. this is abc7 news. >> at the top of the hour, the rain does not stop celebration. thousands poured into the streets of san francisco to celebrate the lunar new year is more festivities kickoff today. good morning. let's start with a quick look of the weather. i am amanda del castillo. >> good morning. we will see lots of rain this morning. settling image looping over the last few hours. can see these cold pockets of air. check that out. at 5:00, you will notice some

towards our asian communities. we need to rally around and show some solidarity. reporter: it seems accomplished. amanda: many in chinatown celebrated a street fair and had more than 120 booths with shopping and booths, plenty of entertainment for people of all ages. >> i love getting to see people, be around all the fun food period amanda: the street fair will be around again today. authorities are investigating will cost an oakland restaurant to corrupt in flames on saturday night. crews tell the chronicle that no one was inside at the time of the fire. no injuries are being reported.

san francisco police are identifying a man suspected of shooting inside of a synagogue last week. security video shows him walking into the area wednesday and opening fire, shooting blanks. a news reporter spoke with congregants at the synagogue who say they feel some relief but still a lot of fear. >> i think we are all still in shock and taking it in. reporter: members of the jewish center are still processing events of last night. security video shows a man entering the center, pulling a gun and firing off rounds. >> they were paralyzed with fear. reporter: no one was hurt as it appears that he fired off blanks. police sources tell abc news that he is a 50 will -- 51-year-old from san francisco. >> no one knows who he is, no

evacuation and shelter-in-place orders are still in effect in ohio after a freight train carrying hazardous materials caught fire. 50 train cars collided on friday, sparking multiple fires. efforts to contain the fire because of fears of a type of chloride could enter the air and how the water would be impacted. >> people use the streams and water to feed their livestock, watered the fields. there is more water in the outlying areas. if this sinks into the ground or the water tanks, could be bad. amanda: that type of chloride can irritate the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs. long-term exposure can lead to liver and kidney problems. military tanks are being sent to ukraine by canada. the canadian defense minister uploaded a video.
