state of the union address, it was of her speech the new divided congress and he called for unity. it was one of the most combative house chambers in memory. the president did not shy away from the comp -- for the confrontation. jobina: the message was clear, and use the job. he called on lawmakers to come together to push his agenda forward. the president was not shy about emphasizing the accomplishments and highlighted the record jobs market and the 3.4% unemployment rate. he touted legislative accomplishments by name, his bipartisan infrastructure bill and the inflation reduction act. he warned against the dangers for not raising the debt ceiling. pres. biden: we are told that democrats and republicans cannot work together but over the past two years we have proved them wrong. jobina: biden talked about the importance of protecting american democracy highlighting the attack on then speaker of the house nancy pelosi's husband

against a national abortion ban saying that he would veto it if it came to his desk. kumasi: newly elected arkansas governor, sarah huckabee sanders delivered the response which was focused on opposing the president and the perceived ideological views. >> most americans want to live their lives in freedom and peace. but we are under attack in a left ruling -- left wing cultural bore that we did not start and did not want to fight. we are told that we must partake in the rituals and salute their flags and worship their false idols. kumasi: the governor rose to prominence as president trump's press secretary and is now the first female governor in arkansas' history and the youngest one in america. reggie: jackie speier reacted to the state of the union and told dan ashley that one of his jobs was to ease concerns from some democrats about his age and health as he considers seeking

the storms at the start of the year are still working to rebuild. fema is stepping into help many people. lena howland is an san mateo county with more on the additional resources available starting this morning. lena: good morning. we are at the ted adcock community center. this is one of the three different sites along the coast that will be opening up this week as in person support for people applying for fema disaster relief from the recent storms. here is what you need to know about these resources. the new assistant centers which are being called mobile registration intake centers will offer female or -- fema disaster relief services. staff can answer questions and help with registration. officials from the county state office of emergency and fema will be on hand to provide a

reggie: somehow housed people will soon have a new place to say. the city has opened a site nearby. the goal is to put 70 sheds enough to house 100 people with former residents given priority. the site includes access to electricity including communal restrooms and a kitchen. an a billion-dollar grant helping find that site. the oakland mayor is part of the mayor's economic forecast. each mayor the city and the bay area. she says that she is eyeing revitalizing the downhole the

our homepage. reggie: california state parks are receiving a massive investment. a grant was announced for protecting and enhancing wildlife habitats. projects within the east bay regional park district and the hayward recreational heart district are among the 12 that receive funding. another building is being stripped of its name because the namesake was racist. the workers remove the name moses hall from the building which houses the department of philosophy and institute of governmental studies. it had been named after bernard moses, a prominent faculty member. the decision comes after a review of his work noted intense racist and colonialist abuse. it is the fifth building to be unnamed since 2020. the building will now be called philosophy hall for the time being. kumasi: more calls for the mayor of oakland to reinstate the suspended police chase -- suspended police chief leronne

saturday. that incident is prompting concerns over the country's ability to track the balloons. >> we have a lot to do to fill the gap. it is really a common nation of both kinds of coverage. kumasi: congressional leaders are expected to be briefed tomorrow. reggie: a man in dallas aused aling an zoo says he would do it again if he gets out of jail. according to a police affidavit the 24-year-old admitted to breaking into the zoo and stealing two monkeys last week. he later returned to the zoo and started asking questions about the monkeys when employees got suspicious and called the police. the monkeys were found an abandoned home with multiple cats and pigeons. the man says that he loves animals and he is facing six counts of animal cruelty and two counts of burglary into a building. kumasi: take a look at this, a
