breaking news. dion: an arrest has been made in a deadly fire in san francisco as we get new details about the investigation. she why for joining us. dan: powerful enough to knock two homes off their foundations and level one of them. san francisco police say the suspect is darren price from san francisco and he has been booked on multiple charges. we are also getting a picture of what might have been going on inside the home where the explosion occurred.

dion: sections of highway 1 -- will reopen this morning including a 10 mile stretch in big sur. another 18 mile stretch will open back up. last month -- last month's storms turned a scenic coastline into a wrecked drive. dan: the encampment is on hold again. a federal judge re issued a restraining order preventing authorities from closing the site in west oakland. the city had planned to begin relocating the residence starting today to three other sites including a cabin community but the judge reversed course because of the sites are not ready. dion: big changes coming to caltrain. crews will be working to electrify the track and there will be major disruptions. they plan to why you're a million feet.

across an ancient lake. dan: let's move to developing news. the number of dead past 23,000 today after the earthquake rocked turkey and syria on monday. they are still looking for survivors in turkey but things have shifted in syria. searchers in syria have stopped rescue operations and are focused on recovery. u.s. rescue groups continue to work with turkish allies. nearly 200 u.s. workers are there with special equipment. the uss moore eight is on the way. >> we are ramping -- the u.s. says more aid is on the way. dan: the u.s. h partners are currently in syria transporting medical supplies and hot meals. learn more about the impact on children and families in turkey and syria and how you can help.

you will find a link within the article on our website. dion: highway 17's first wildlife crossing open today in santa cruz. take a look, the path sits on private property and wildlife can use the underpass keeping them from entering the highway. researchers from uc santa cruz project spent 15 years studying mountain lions in the area and five years into their research they proposed the crossing. the professor explained what sparked the idea. >> we wanted to do that before we started seeing genetic differentiation between populations on both side. dion: the land trust and the california department of transportation were also partnering on the project. land trust owns the land which they purchased to convince caltrans to build the crossing.
