everybody involved from giving opinions to the present public they can talk about what happened in open court and give past and future court dates. the san mateo county district attorney telling us that the not guilty plea is what is expected in a case like this. >> i have never heard anything but a plea of not guilty. it is how the system keeps flowing through. >> also saying there is a lot of work for both sides to do. >> the defense is still going through police reports. we are waiting for a variety of reports so the matter was not set for the next step which is a preliminary hearing. murder, one count of attempted murder and a firearm use enhancement and a special circumstance allegation of multiple murder. that makes it a capital murder case in which he could be sentenced to death or life without the possibility of parole. some of the reports the teams to has to go through are the coroner reports. those will not be done for several months. the next date is to schedule the preliminary hearing.

in san mateo county, zach fuentes, abc 7 news. >> today one of the shooting victims was laid to rest. it is video from mexico of the funeral services. family members raised more than $38,000 in gofundme drive to help get his body back to his native mexico. he worked at concord farms and had been living in the half moon bay area for 25 years. he was 50 years old. two donate to the half moon bay strong fund which is supporting victims and families you can go to abc 7 news. am/take action. >> 13 people are homeless afte a fast-moving fire inside a three story apartment building in san francisco. crews found the building fully ablaze when they arrived and had to work ugly to rescue two people. that had to work quickly to rescue two people. >> members of truck 14 going to the roof to effect ventilation

techniques observed an individual barely holding onto the rooftop and were able to reach down and grabbed the person with flames below him and pull the person to safety. >> both people were taken to the hospital and are expected to be ok. also ok is a cat that had to be treated for smoke inhalation. you see it in its cage. the cruise gave it oxygen. the cause of the fire is under investigation. the men accused of sparking last week's massive house explosion will be back in court tomorrow. suzanne phan poured over new court documents to uncover more about his background. >> it has been exactly one week since the devastating explosion and fire destroyed the home that suspect on price lived in. a day before police arrested him price learned his wife died in the blast. multiple her friends set up a gofundme

page to help with funeral costs. price was charged with involuntary manslaughter, manufacturing a controlled substance, four counts of reckless burn, two counts of child endangerment and one count of elder abuse. price has two children who were at school when the explosion happened. we learned he used a volatile solvent to chemically extract concentrated cannabis within 300 feet of an occupied residence. he had a prior conviction. first-degree burglary in 1993. during his first court appearance wednesday prosecutors say butane vapors from the drug lead allegedly operated may have interact with the dryer and that caused the explosion. according to the das office investigators recovered suspected butane tanks, ovens and other materials consistent with processing hash oil. we asked his next-door neighbor about that. >> it is surprising.

74 years old. retired after a long career as a golden gate transit bus driver. bought this house by the highway in oakland 40 years ago. he was there when caltrans first install the sound wall in 1983. when it went up did it make a difference in your quality of life in terms of the sound? >> definitely. a brand-new house to us. we did not mind it. we imagine we were over by the seashore. >> a lack of maintenance by caltrans over the years has left the sound wall in very bad shape. >> this wall starts getting decrepit and everything like that. it still was like the ocean. but like in a tidal wave. splash and all that. >> gino says the sound wall along the property line has se hard car crashes and many more glancing blows. afou to have easy ce t

staff moved quickly visiting the site and calling caltrans. >> they responded to us immediately. within a couple of hours saying they're going to be sending a maintenance crew to scope the area asap. it is entirely under caltrans jurisdiction. >> on wednesday our drone pilot spotted the team assessing the sound wall on both sides. the caltrans spokesperson emailed me the agency has decided the long term is to replace it with a masonry block design. the recent winter storms have exacerbated existing damage to the sound wall. they are evaluating whether it can be repaired as a temporary measure. >> if it is something that can be done in pounds it should be fixed within one to two weeks. if they determine it is something that needs to be contracted out potentially longer. >> good news for dino but it is hard to be optimistic with all he has been through. >> if i hit the lottery i'll be

>> tesla recalled 363,000 vehicles because it's much-publicized self-driving system could cause a crash. >> autopilot has raised concerns and in the past. >> you guys have reported on it. the national highway traffic safety administration investigated tesla's autopilot system after hundreds of crashes over one year. we sell the pileup on the bay bridge. tesla agreed to recall thousands of cars equipped with its full self-driving system. it was a horrific car crash last thanksgiving day on the bay bridge. the surveillance video obtained by the intercept publication

shows the moment it happened. a tesla model three suddenly slammed its brakes. eight cars crashed behind it injuring nine people triggering a massive traffic jam. the tesla owner told the c 2021 model three was in full self-driving mode when the brakes suddenly deployed. today the national highway traffic safety administration announced tesla is recalling nearly 363 thousand vehicles because the self drive system may cause a crash. the notice did not name any specific incidents but says the full self-driving controls can make unsafe maneuvers on public roadways and drivers may not be quick enough to intervene. the self drive system may take cars straight through the intersection while they are in turn only lane, failed to come to a complete stop at stop signs, go through your little

rights without proper caution and failed to adjust to changing speed limits. tesla will provide a software of date by april 15 design to improve the system's responses in traffic. as many as 400,000 tesla owners are testing the self drive system on public roads and are responsible for taking over driving if needed. the recall involves certain tesla model s, model x, model three and model y vehicles that have the full self-driving data system. tesla did not respond to requests for comment on the recall but ceo elon musk tweeted the word recall for an over the air software update is anna karenina stick and is flat wrong. tesla did not tell stop using the self drive mode. they told them to watch for the software up to date by april 15. i've posted a link with the entire report as well as a list
