unannounced trip to ukraine overnight to meet with volodymyr zelenskyy on the one-year anniversary of the war with russia. jobina has more on his message. jobina: president biden visit comes as the city has been under threat of missile attacks. he met with president zelenskyy and the first lady of ukraine in a display of strong american support just days before the one-year mark. >> we thought it was critical that there not be any doubt about u.s. support for ukraine. stark alley five next olan. the white house as he will meet with poland's president tomorrow and literally speech condemning the russian war in ukraine. the trip comes amid a new start wanting for russia. >> we have information that they are considering providing legal support to russia in the war against ukraine. it was important for me to show very clearly that this would be

waking up without power in the dark this morning read still, this is a major improvement from the height of the outages yesterday about 50,000 customers lost power just before 1:00 in the afternoon after a transformer caught fire at a pg&e power substation. the outages stretched all the way to the border including the oakland international airport. social media video shows tsa halting check ins after the power went out with airport officials temporarily shutting down services. many people saying they were delayed before they even arrived in oakland. >> they forded half of the flight and then we were the last ones on so we were just like, we will just not put you on the airplane right now so we waited in portland a little longer and got over here and i think they got a power running and everything. >> open fires at the official cause of the fire is still under investigation. they say crews have to examine the damaged transformer to

figure out have a fire exactly started. according to the last check, the outage map power is expected to be restored by noon today. investigating what caused a three alarm fire at the east bay first and oldest black church. flames broke out around 11:00 last night at her staffing american episcopal church. the pastor spoke about the church and its history. >> this church is about people. it is about the people in this community, the people of the east bay, the people who love oakland. there is a strong, rich history. i am at a loss for words. firefighters said they are still working to fire out and are

looking for additional hotspot. 60 firefighters were on the scene and thankfully, nobody was hurt. reggie: san jose police are investigating an attack caught on camera. evicted the 2nd street vendor to be attacked just the last week. >> carlos sanchez for father of a family microbe who says he has to come to work every day so he has money to feed them. he even showed up on sunday, the day after he was attacked. >> out of here. get out of here, leave. get out of here. >> this video, he's counted and threatened, allegedly by an employee of the nearby auto parts store in san jose. the employee then allegedly hit sanchez as well. let's do that.

the train derailed more than two weeks ago starting a fire that burned for days. that prompted officials to carry out a controlled explosion. the ntsb now says 11 of the railcars were carrying hazardous material. that is one more than previously reported. in a facebook post, the mayor of east palestine wrote that cleanup is "going well" but warned it will be ongoing for the foreseeable future. >> i will never be comfortable in my home. my kids will never play in the backyard again which makes me very sad. it is never going to be safe for them in my eyes. >> the air and water are but experts say the monitoring equipment may not provide enough information, saying the fire and explosion could have formed dioxins which can cause cancer. two ohio senators have co-authored a letter calling for the epa to monitor dioxins in the area. kumasi: thank you.

the murder of a catholic bishop in los angeles is under investigation this morning. andrew dymburt has the details. >> holy mary mother of god, pray for us. andrew called a prayer vigil was held where police say 69-year-old auxiliary bishop david o'connor was found shot in the chest inside his own house in the middle of the afternoon. o'connell, a bishop for 45 years was described as the peacemaker who worked with everyone from immigrants to victims of gang violence. those who knew him say they are stunned. >> he was so soft-spoken. he was a humble soul. he was not the type that would have confrontations with anybody. >> the sheriff's department only saying they've ruled out suicide and so far no information on possible suspects motive -- for a motive. dashboard a motive -- or a motive. reggie: a raging fire over the weekend.
