reggie: schoolbook bands have been happening more frequently and now they're up for discussion and a db area. -- discussion in the area. the san ramon valley school district, there are some concerns for parents and the process is harder for parents than you might think. lena: that is right. no vote on any puts pressure on any books will be made tonight. according to the east bay times, a lot of parents will be coming to this meeting to voice their concerns about this process, stemming from their concerns on three different books. it starts with "gender queer," a memoir on gender identity. there were unfounded claims made at the january board meeting a student was disciplined for refusing to read the book.

parents are reportedly upset about a book called "push," which was later turned into the book "precious." one complaint says they contain highly sexual content. while the board agenda does not mention any specific books, the board will discuss the process in which a parent can vote -- can suggest a book be banned. it is a multiple step process that involves conversations between parents and administrators before it can be seen before the school board. spokesperson confirmed up until now notebook has ever been banned from the school district and no vote on any books will be held tonight. reggie: regulators are asking tesla to hand over more information on the car involved in the

reggie: another strong blow to those in southern turkey. a 6.3 magnitude earthquake is blamed for entering three people -- killing three people and injuring many more. the quick also injured buildings hit by the previous earthquake. the aftershock comes a week after the massive earthquake killed more than 46,000 people in turkey and syria. recovery efforts are still underway. kumasi: social media will be a visitor if two cases before the supreme court. the cases involve when social media companies can be sued by content posted by third parties. family members of victims of terrorist attacks what school" or held accountable for terrorist content on their platforms. social media companies are currently immune to content. the decisions could reshape the internet.

mayor's decision to part ways with chief armstrong. that statement says in part, "no accountability is essential to working together and moving oakland past the legacy of mismanagement and corruption that has plagued our city's police department generations." reggie: an end is accused -- a man accused of shooting a gun inside a synagogue is back ada court. he is expected unemployment or hearing about the charges against him. he pled not guilty during his arraignment hearing. he is egregious to receive mental health services and is being held without bail. kumasi: a federal judge could rule to overturn the ban on assault weapons this week. that decision from judge roger benitez who is known for building against the state's gun-control laws is said to be in it -- is said to be eminent.

reggie: a very award-winning group is back in the oakland area with a project to inspire kids. kyiv that rockers put on a short at berkeley's hall of science -- the abc rockers put on a show at berkeley's hall of science. the group took home a last month for the best children's album. as part of the show, the alphabet rockers released a series called "tough people." focuses on -- it focuses on math, engineering, and says concepts. kumasi: i love myself. reggie: is that what they said? kumasi: i love myself. -- lena howland is live with this process is going to take place. lena: while a no vote is going to pick -- is going to take place tonight, a lot of parents are expected to be here as tonight's school board meeting voicing their concerns about the process to ban books incentive school libraries. this stems from their concerns about three specific books. it starts with "a gender we are: a memoir" which is supposed to serve as a resource for kids on a gender identity. there were unverified claims made that a student was disciplined for refusing to read the book. a student at doherty valley high school where the principal rejected an attempt to ban the book told of the east bay times parents are doing this because they are scared of the change between their generation and hours. according to the east bay times, "gender queer" is still

roberts returned to good morning america after receiving a bone marrow transplant. abc 7 news and abc stations have teamed up with "good morning america" for a nationwide effort to register more donors. st. mary's college held a drive on campus. gloria rodriguez spoke with people who participated about the impact a simple donation can have. >> with each of these swabs swab the inciter-in-chief for 10 seconds. reporter: dylan helps recruit bone marrow transplant recipients -- donors at his college. he was diagnosed with acute leukemia in 2017. >> it definitely was a shock when we got the news. cancer was the last thing we expected for me to have. it all happened so suddenly. reporter: he found out he needed to marrow transplant. >> i tried to give a positive attitude. when i was waiting for my match, i was busted with chemo and went

into remission. while i was waiting for my match, i was able to do immunotherapy. reporter: he found a match and his transplant was a success. at the same drive, drumming bennett helps students administer their swaps to sign up for the registry. she is married to the coach of the high ranked st. mary's basketball team. every time she volunteers, she makes about her little brother. he was three years old when he was diagnosed with leukemia. he needed a bone marrow transplant. >> i was a match. he had to be put into remission before the transplant would happen. he didn't survive. reporter: he passed away at the age of six. >> it is tough. he was undergoing treatments. can't the life any kid should have -- not the life any kid should have. reporter: she hopes she can help save someone else's life.
