of the night with destructive winds from the texas panhandle to kansas. people in oklahoma city were urged to take immediate shelter after a confirmed tornado was on the move just outside the city. flip semi winds, ripping off roofs and throwing this rv against a house in nearby norman, oklahoma . the damage is described as widespread i heard was like rattling, the whole house was shaking. the door was going crazy. our front window in our third bedroom busted through and glasses just flying through the hallway and it was. it was kind of scary. yeah town of liberal kansas, a reported tornado destroyed a home and toppled trees and power lines. this is the same system that brought rain, wind and snow to the west coast, stranding drivers and closing down sections of major highways. more than six ft of snow fell in the higher elevations of southern california. hundreds of students from orange county were stranded

overnight at a camp in the san bernardino mountains in valencia embankment collapsed, sending motorhomes plunging into the river down below. luckily no one was hurt. as the storm moves east. forecasters are calling for more ice and snow in parts of michigan, where thousands of customers were still without power. five days after a storm blanketing parts of the state with ice the storm is then expected to move into the northeast with heavy rain today from the mid atlantic to new york city and snow to the north. 3 to 6 inches expected in boston by tuesday. shrewsbury massachusetts already blanketed with snow earlier gearing up for more and we'll take a closer look at today's forecast in just a few moments. officials say weather may have been a factor in the deadly crash of a medical flight near reno, nevada, the plane breaking up in mid air even though it was relatively new and was designed to handle such conditions. grade earlier not answering. this morning, the ntsb sharing its preliminary

findings after this weekend's deadly crash of a medical flight. it was real tragedy and our thoughts go out to them. investigators say five people were killed when the pilatus pc 12 seen in these newly released photos broke apart in midair at around 19,000 ft. part of the right wing separated. the other part was the tail section. we have recovered those pieces. they were about a half to three quarters of a mile from the fight wreckage. the medical air service care flight confirming there were no survivors. the victims include the pilot to flight medical personnel. a patient and a member of the patient's family. our organization is grieving the loss. of our valued team members and we extend our deepest condolences to their families care flight now grounding the rest of its fleet of aircraft pending the investigation, according to the ntsb. the plane's operator guardian flight had been involved in at least four other crashes in recent years, and 11 person team will now comb the area looking for

parts of the aircraft. an official cause of the crash won't be released for at least a year. authorities say more than 100. people may have died after a wooden boat packed with migrants sank off the coast of italy. at least 59 bodies have alreadyeen pulled from the water, including several children. officials say the boat departed from turkey. most of the migrants are from afghanistan, pakistan and somalia now to the pandemic. in a new report about the origin of covid 19, according to the wall street journal and investigation by the u. s energy department. found the virus most likely came from an accidental lab league, possibly for the biomedical lab in wuhan, china, but that assessment was reportedly made with quote, low confidence. the fbi supports the lab leak theory but for other agencies and national intelligence panel believe covid jumped from animals to humans naturally. some elements of the intelligence community have reached conclusions on one side, some on the other, a number of them have said they just don't have enough information to be

court's decision, especially if you're low income first generation. sometimes the dead that you will have to take on can affect you and your family for years to come. the biden student loan forgiveness plan cancels $10,000 in student loans for individuals earning less than $125,000 a year and $20,000 if they were also recipients of pell grants. an ambitious campaignprishe president is trying to fulfill using his executive authority under the pandemic emergency student loan program is designed to give just a little more breathing room. but separate lawsuits filed by two borrowers and a group of republican led states argue the president's plan is an illegal abuse of power, and it's unfair to some borrowers. people knew what they were doing when they signed it, and they should pay it off. but the latest quinnipiac poll shows a majority of americans support the student loan forgiveness plan. roughly one in six adults carry some debt. collectively according to the federal reserve. americans owe more than $1.6 trillion in

student loans, many hoping the justices will allow biden's plan to move forward. it's not everything, but it would certainly help a lot and relieve a lot of that burden and andrea luis, lower courts have decided or have actually cited with the states, but it's unclear at this point how the justices will rule . in the meantime, though, advocacy groups want the biden administration to start considering backup plans in case it loses. andrea alright, faith. thank you. the removal of toxic waste will resume today at the site of that train derailment in east palestine, ohio. it imiigas complained that norfolk southern railroad was sending the contaminated shipments to their states. the e p a now says the waste will be sent to disposal sites within ohio. all of this is great news for the people of east palestine. and the surrounding community. because it means the cleanup can continue at a rapid pace. the epa will also begin installing wells to monitor the groundwater for contamination and breaking
