caroussev who live just blocks away from both of those locations where the transformers were bombed and we learned more about the case against him in court today. he's facing nine felony counts including igniting a destructive device arson and possessing bomb-making materials have works as a software engineer at zukes. that is a company that develops self-driving car technology. he's married with three children ages one three and five police say a search of carousel's home following his arrest on wednesday. turned up a large amount of explosive materials as well as a meth lab police. say he admitted to using methamp. pain as a replacement for adderall during the adderall shortage investigators also say he told them he'd been having a difficult time due to the war between russia and ukraine since he has family owned in both countries. we don't know the motive or the circumstances surrounding as to why this individual did what he did or what he allegedly did. we know that we're going forward with our fbi partners to have a broader scope.

to a library in san francisco's chinatown and that's where she met with some small local asian-owned businesses. she spoke about the importance of community banks and helping the bay area's economic success. however, one of the most impactful moments was after that discussion when i got to talk with her one-on-one during this international women's month. i asked what she was proud of and the challenges being the first female vice president and a person of color. she shared this personal story. so my mother had lots of advice for me and one piece of advice is she would say calmly you may be the first to do many things make sure you're not the last and i think it's incumbent on each one of us. that is a first to do what we can to make sure the doors open and stays open. that the path is wider. and so i think of that as a is it for me a sense of personal responsibility to make sure that i do what i can to create that kind of opportunity for others.

efforts to battle the drug overdose crisis more than a dozen local leaders or a new york city today to get a look at the country's first sanctioned safe consumption site now san francisco's hoping to open three sites by the end of the year, but the city attorney is saying, oh, let's pump the brakes a little citing legal concerns abc 7 news reporter tara campbell with the details from new york.

there are two safe consumptions sites in new york city. one of them is right here behind me. both of them are operated by a non-profit called onpoint. so we're putting in an oral or a nasal airway. make sure the oxygen we're pumping in is getting to the right place. the pace is fast and the purpose is clear save lives and connect drug users to services. they need from treatment to medical care a shower and laundry on point is home to the first sanctioned safe consumption site in the us one location in harlem and the other in washington heights these sites provide a place for people to use their drugs under the supervision of a medically trained professional there ready to reverse an overdose and more than a dozen of san francisco's local leaders are taking notes from city supervisors to the san francisco fire department public health and the nonprofits hoping to operate safe consumption site.

in los angeles took an aerial tour today. most of the roads in big bear are plowed in businesses are open but many here feel cut off from the outside world because the roads up to the mountain town are still closed and nine days of snow seven feet in some places has made big bear a hard place to get to if you don't live here, it feels like it's the end of the world or something like we're like, we're just being completely ignored and forgotten about our journey started in van nuys airport in 45 minutes later. we landed by helicopter and big bear where we met taxi driver and longtime resident denise. mazzotti. though it hasn't snowed here for a few days. we found many gas stations closed. i'm done. adagaz. i just ran out of guys about two hours ago, and i'm able to get a gas truck up here for the last two days three days. we're here at community market

in big bear city. now, they're produce truck was able to make it up the hill this morning. they got fresh produce for the first time in a week, but they don't have any meat their truck. it was supposed to deliver meat was turned away at the bottom of the hill. we don't even have the supplies for our locals let alone for the people that are coming up here for vacation and that's something you'll rarely hear in big bear after a monster snowstorm the ski and snowboard resorts are open but residents don't think the town is ready yet to accommodate visitors. we love the torres, but this not a good time. that's difficult news for aaron lewis who works at cowan's bar and grill. she lives in the high desert and was able to get up to big bear because she has an id but business is hurting. local residents here. josh haskell abc 7 news feels like the end of the world.

all right, the results are certainly in snowpack levels or at 177 percent of average at philip station near lake tahoe this morning the california department of water resources carried out the third sierra snow survey of the season. they found the snow depth was just over 116 inches and the water content was 41 and a half inches last week's rain and snow boosted the numbers after a month long dry spell in february. the snowpack is rivaling the states highest season in 1982 to 1983. so you gotta go always back. we may break some records here because more snow is on the way and we'll have rain here in the bay area. yeah for the details go to abc 7 news weather anchor spencer christian. he spencer larry more snow is definitely on the way to the sierra. he was a look at the winter storm warning in effect from 10 am tomorrow to 10 am monday for the sierra. we're talking about one to five feet of additional snow. above 3,000 feet on top of what they already have so we may very well approach the braking of
