slight activity tonight, but as we bring in weather anchor spencer christian the real story the next couple of days spencer, that is correct our most take a look at what's happening right now and then i'll get to the the main event on live doppler 7 right now you can see we just have widely scattered light showers very few places or even reporting any precipitation at this hour. so this storm threw tomorrow is a level one on the exclusive abc 7 storm impact scale. we can expect more periods of scattered showers. the whitest areas will be in the north bay and it'll be breezy at times but it's this storm this level two storm on the exclusive abc 7 storm impact scale there were watching that'll be coming in tomorrow evening and intensifying and expanding overnight. 55 to 70 miles per hour flooding and debris froze or flows are likely here's our forecast animation starting at midnight

tonight notice going through the day tomorrow. just those light scattered showers, but late tomorrow going into the evening hours. here comes that stronger storm tapping into that atmospheric river bringing in heavy rainfall overnight through much of the day on tuesday along with strong gusty winds. i'll give you a look at how long that lasts and what's coming next a little bit later ama. all right. thank you so much spencer will check back tonight governor newsome is expanding his state of emergency from this weekend storms flood waters have taken over neighborhoods in monterey county and forced to evacuations a burst levy along the baharo river is now flooded into nearby homes many of them owned by farm workers abc 7 news reporter tara campbell has the latest left turn search and rescue efforts intensifying sunday in monterey county where there was a 120 foot wide levee breach along the pajaro river floodfield streets forcing thousands from their homes cars submerged invers the national guard helping with

rescues bay area teams. also assisting including marin county fire and here the oakland urban search and rescue task force today first responders rescuing close to 200 people as of sunday. actually in a national guard high water vehicle driving through paulo monterey county sheriff. tina nieto says most of the rescues have been in the town of pajaro. i can tell you at least close to 800 homes have been impacted by this flood. this is about as bad as you can get and the water is still rising and that fast rising water catching some residents off guard one capturing this video as he was rescued from his home. he says some of his neighbors don't want to evacuate muskanas, you know since sister eleven delao the sheriff's office sunday upgrading the evacuation warning to an

evacuation order for the salinas river areas. this is a very important evacuation order because it encompasses a large amount of residential structures as well as commercial agricultural structures and they should take the order seriously that's going to be more people that we're asking to evacuate out of their homes. these are the low line areas. it's a lot of people as for a fix to the levy the county says it's getting support from the state and repairs our underway in the meantime emergency responders are working to bring people to safety with another round of heavy rain expected monday tara campbell abc 7 news. in the east bay to southbound lanes of 880 have reopened in fremont after being closed for several hours because of flooding all northbound lanes remain closed the chp shut down both directions of 880 between thornton and mowry avenue officials. say a drainage canal overflowed from heavy rain causing that

for another route if you're driving through there tomorrow. there's no estimate on a reopening time near half moon bay firefighters rescued to surfers who got stuck on a cliff cal fire teams shared this video of the rescue out on tara state beach. they say the surfers tried swimming back to the beach after the leash broke on one of their boards, but they got caught in a riptide before making it to a safe point a friend on the beach called 911 firefighters pulled the surfers and their boards up to the top of the cliff. neither surfer was hurt. tonight's highway 1 remains closed from big serta san luis, obispo county due to mudslides and falling rocks from the weekend's storms farther north a 21-mile stretch of highway one is also closed in watsonville after extreme flooding county officials say that's all coming from the drastic levy breach along the pajaro river. first responders from the bay area are now assisting with the evacuations in that pocket of monterey county. meanwhile flooding issues. also continue to plague us here

locally abc 7 news reporter cornell bernard gives a closer. look at what happened today. in monterey county the small town of pajaro under six feet of flood water after a levy failure on the pajaro river. video shot by marin county fire department swift water rescue team. they're now assisting in the evacuation of thousands of residents community solution to get in that water out of there and sonoma county this small car got trapped and rising flood water on mark west station road outside windsor sunday morning the elderly driver in passenger were rescued and brought to safety by sonoma county fire district cruise people don't realize that even just a little bit of water can float a

vehicle. so in a scenario like this, it could have gone way worse. check it out. the water is several feet deep where that car stalled out and neighbors say it's not the first time cars have stalled out here every year somebody gets stuck there this year. we're up to five cars getting stuck in there on the peninsula. there was flooding inside the belmont. mobile home park on harbor boulevard, it's not the first time it's happened here residents. say january storms brought damage to the entire park the more time we wait. we have to like be prepared get our stuff just in case we have to like get evacuate nearby staff at evolution performance were cleaning up after their gym got flooded weights and equipment heavily damaged. all the cables are gonna get arrested out. so this is gonna cost about 75,000 dollars bit alone. a rainy weekend across the bay area with another storm on the way in marin county cornell bernard abc 7 news in the south
