critics are calling it a bailout. but the biden administration insists that is not the case. all of this comes amid a period of inflation. and rising interest rates. the markets were steady overnight. the question now is, could more banks be at risk? this morning. the government is deploying emergency measures to stop a potential banking crisis, including the takeover of another regional bank, signature bank of new york, just two days after regulators shut down silicon valley bank, the second largest bank failure in u. s history, i think that without this, there could have been some serious runs on other banks because there would have been a loss of confidence. throughout the whole system, the federal reserve last night announced clients at both banks will get access to all their funds. when branches open today, not just the $250,000 insured by the f d i c. treasury secretary janet yellen insists this is not a bailout because the funds are coming from a pool of money paid into by wall street different than the taxpayer funded bailouts of 2008. this is not a

bailout. this is. change of policy. yes, but. hmm the f d i c s funding. does not come from taxpayers that comes from the banks. the big banks. all the turmoil began last wednesday when silicon valley bank, a large lender in the tech industry, tried to sell assets to boost its balance sheet that panicked investors and customers race to withdraw their money. after seeing the news on social media, it's a confidence game and social media can destroy confidence very quickly. twitter was just a blaze with concerns about what was going on here, and that creates a wildfire situation. senator bernie sanders blames silicon valley bank's collect caps on successful republican efforts in recent years to relax regulations on small and medium sized banks. as for signature bank, the reason for its collapse remained unclear. overnight. many of signatures clients are in cryptocurrency. over the weekend. the uncertainty spread to another regional bank first republic

are bracing for a new round of storms as floodwaters inundate neighborhoods we are looking at expanding evacuation orders. authorities in monterey county now expanding evacuation orders after the salinas river began to overflow flooding towns along its banks. this is a very important evacuation order because it encompasses a large amount of residential structures. dramatic video shows the rescued by helicopter of a man stranded after floodwaters washed away his car. hours earlier, a levee breach on the nearby baharu river forced residents to flee more than 3000 in monterey county have now been evacuated. first responders navigating the streets, searching for people stranded and submerged vehicles were up to close to 200 rescues. now reservoirs around the state are now releasing water. this one's cranking out at 30,000 cubic feet. for second. this is folsom lake reservoir, which serves all

they say the suspect had taken his own life. siddiqi had felt a protection order against the suspect, who had first reached out to her on a chat app where she facilitated discussions on jobs in the tech industry, but things escalated siddiqui calling the alleged stalker delusional writing. he won't let me go and the only thing that will make all of this stop is if he killed himself or died. she said. he called more than 100 times crying and begging to speak to her, leaving her husband more than 20 messages a day, even showing up unannounced , staying at nearby hotels, but police say they were unable to track the suspect down about the protection order because he was a long haul truck driver. often on the road. former colleagues reacting to the news. can't imagine anyone wanting to do any harm to her at all. and she's just such a beautiful person that's really sad. responding to questions about how they handled the case. police stressed that a protection order allows officers to act if a person violated but
