as w 7 the wind is breezy aswell a ok at our satellite picture. as we go inan y find a spot where there isn't any rain. on top of mount salina, a couple of heavier cells. back to san francisco, moderate rain offshore ready to move into the south bay. light to moderate rain. wind from the upper 40's to 50's. mild anywhere from seven to 10 degrees milder from yesterday and wind gusting 20 miles per hour. a nasty morning out there. upper elevations, nearly 50 miles per hour. level 1 system. anywhere from a 10th of an inch to the rain shadow area to an inch in parts of the north bay. we are looking at this rain to

he says california will start manufacturing its own drug used to reverserdosese govnorannounct he saythtate and nonprofit drugmaker are going to team up to make that insulin, which he says will in turn lower the price. a 10 meter vial of insulin will cost $30 and will be available to california residents and the entire country if approved by the fda. >> there is no state in america that comes close to doing what the state of california has done on health care. we have a lot more work to do. liz: the move is a part of newsom's effort to lower health care costs. as a part of that to work governor newsom will be in san diego today to discuss the health care reform. his office says he will announce a massive expansion of california's behavioral health system and more mental health housing. this is a part of the governor's statewide state of the state tour. in the east bay family and friends demanding justice after

a 27-year-old man was shot and killed last weekly -- last weekend. the lgbtq center held a memorial yesterday. he also went by the weight -- went by the name tate. davis was shot -- davis was found with gunshot wounds. family and friends described him as a man of love and compassion. >> my brother was a beautiful spirit, a joyful spirit. he was always here for a good time. spreading love, giving care to anyone. when he met someone, he instantly made that person feel loved. liz: police say -- oakland police say the investigation is ongoing. no arrests have been made. last night the sinner shot celebrated pride night. the lgbtq themed warm-up jerseys, except for one player who refused to wear the jersey. his decision sparked a big debate. abc 7 news reporter told us

liz: here is a live look outside looking out over the embarcadero and the bay bridge morning. in the east bay a man is in jail after police say he stabbed a pregnant woman and two children. this happened after 3:00 p.m. yesterday on wilburn and antioch avenue. the man stabbed a pregnant woman, an 11-year-old girl and a 14 euros boy.

authorities have not clarified who is in critical condition. police say the suspect tried to get away but the officers caught up and arrested him in cordelia. san francisco police asking for your help as they try to find a one-year-old child they say was a acted right -- abducted by his mother that does not have any custody rights over the child. police say 38-year-old chelsea 10 leverage left from a home haight street thursday afternoon. on the peninsula a father and son are safe after falling 30 feet off a cliff in pacifico friday afternoon. california highway patrol helicopters successfully airlifted host men from marine point. one adult was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the other was not hurt. at abc7news we are focused on building a better bay area and today we want to dive into education. teachers from around the state rallied in san francisco this weekend. many say they are underpaid, understaffed and

underappreciated. we talked to protesters during their -- we talked to workers during a protest in union square. >> members of the federation of teachers taking time from their annual conference to support educators in san francisco. >> we are the union. the mighty mighty union. >> we are coming together to fight for our students, to fight for our members. >> some employees at fsu usd and city college say they survived working during the pandemic inside some classrooms without heat. but pay remains the biggest issue for leslie. >> is an incredibly expensive city to live in and we make very low wages here. some of our parent and educators -- only some of our parent educators make close to $17 an

hour. >> we are all about labor. we think you should receive equal pay for equal work. we support our brothers and sisters in san francisco. >> union officials francisco classrooms continue to be understaffed and payroll issues still a problem. >> some say it is a staffing crisis but we say it is a manufacturing crisis. a crisis of systemic underfunding and underpaying. and chronic disrespect. >> san last september they approved a pay raise. the union is seeking a different career path. >> 40% of our members say they will tell family and friends to become an educator. that is a sad story.

discovery in sierra, nevada. microcosm was found in the snowpack. tiny fragments originate from clothing, food packaging and tires. it is unclear what the effects on human health on the ecosystem are because of this. but it is a worrying sign micro plastics could make it into the state's water supply. as we are getting more rain this morning, water is still being released at lake orville. you can see that beautiful rainfall -- that beautiful rainbow. water is flowing into the river. department resources posted this video. they are monitoring the lake level. the recent rain has replenished many of the state's critical reservoirs. like orval is that capacity. that is historic this month.

southlake. rainfall estimates for our south atmospheric river. an inch and a third for santa rosa. that is our second system. system winding down in the afternoon. scattered showers, upper 50's to low 60's. in the accu said -- in the accuweather 7-day forecast, the heaviest rain will be today, this morning. it breaks out that it breaks up this afternoon. a level two system on tuesday. and the wind. if it is to the south of us. perhaps flooding along rivers, streams. wednesday, a lingering shower. thursday, friday and saturday we are not going to warm up. we have dry conditions but some forecast models want to keep unsettled rain into next weekend as well.

heading our way. check out san francisco. you will notice the yellows and the red along highway 82 around ingleside, daly city, waterloo bay canyon parkway and down my grizzly, moderate rain. santa clara to park more, a solid deck of rain. lighter rain through san ramon. walnut creek and 680. in the north bay, covered with light to moderate rain. the winds allowing for the subtropical moisture to bring in that mild air with low to mid 50's. six to 10 degrees milder compared to yesterday. it was colder yesterday with the clear air. 25 to 30 mile-per-hour wind gusts. i would take the advice and st in for a little bit. level 1 system throughout the morning hours. slowly we see dry conditions for your sunday evening and a break before an atmospheric river late monday night. liz: new details and the

collapse of silicon valley bank. in newly recovered audio the former ceo seemed optimistic about future business days before the collapse. abc news reporter chuck seger state has the latest. >> and audio newly obtained by abc news, the then ceo of failed telecom valley bank -- failed silicon valley bank appearing confidence just days before the banks failure. >> if you think about the fed, what they want to do is make sure they are managing all financial risk. so much of that risk has gone outside of the banking sector. >> according to government financial filings, becker sold three point $6 million in silicon valley bank stock late last month. the bank's parent company filing for bankruptcy friday stop -- friday. the bankers lawyer telling us, "we believe he conducted himself appropriately at all times."
