is graphic. >> they need to stop chasing them. if they have the police stop chasing them then this would never have had happened. there are woman who didn't want to be identify is the cousin of the 31 year-old mother who was killed in rodeo. her twins 6 year-old sons were severely injured. >> they need to stop chasing. when a car enter into a residential neighborhood, they need to stop chasing the cars. >> the chase happened thursday night. according to police, they were informed of a stolen s.u.v. headed towards hercules. police caught up and chased the vehicle after it exited i-80 into the city. surveillance video shows the moment when the s.u.v. hit the mom at this intersection. >> it was the most horrifying thing i've ever seen in my life. it was terrible. >> tony dylan was leaving his restaurant when he witnessed the crash. the scene was in front of the street. he was the first on the scene. >> i heard a little boy yelling in the car.

so i ran straight to the car. there was no one even there yet. i just tried to hold the little boy. >> two boys were take on the children's hospital in oakland like the victim's family. porter says this is not the first time he's seen a police chase on parker avenue. >> whenever they get chased, they always want to run out this way. >> a couple of weeks, but it's dangerous. dangerous. >> surveillance video shows the driver 20 year-old rob ellsworth white running from the scene he was found from a nearby liquor store and arrested on several charges, including vehicle manslaughter, hercules police was not available to comment on their police chase policy or residents's concerns about the number of chases >> for whole community is shook-up. everybody's praying. hopefully the other child is safe. dan: a massive oak tree crashed

through a home this morning and one family feels very lucky to have survived it. it happened on yolanda drive around 5:30 in the morning. the 100-foot tree fell through the roof. two people had to rescued. one dived out of the bed to avoid being crushed. with all the rain and the ground so saturate and the trees soaking up all the water, this tree was nearly a century old. >> on the peninsula, crews were doing some preventative work to take down some of the most threatening trees. this comes after trees caused massive damage toppling eucalyptus trees. we have the details. reporter: some tall trees during el camino real and wood chips are flying at state route 82.

eucalyptus trees have been a major hazard. several trees toppled over. stephanie's home on edge hill drive was struck by a fallen tree. three nearby vehicles were crushed. >> this corner had three trees come down in addition to two threes and a telephone pole. and caused devastation to the people's homes and their cars and near misses for their lives. >> berlingame is known as the city of tree. >> city has 17,000 trees citywide. and the eucalyptus trees have been around for over 100 years. >> last week ann arborist assessed 200 eucalyptus trees and tagged some of the biggest concerns. >> the city is looking at it and working with caltrans to evaluate each tree and see which trees are at risk of endangering the public. >> look at how big this eucalyptus tree is. the base measures more than six

green hill thanks to all the recent storms gusty winds. 36 miles an hour s.f.o.38. we have a frost advisory going up for just about everyone tomorrow morning and sunday morning away from the coast and the bayshoreline, low to mid 30's expected with areas of frogs. so watch out if you're stepping out this evening. temperatures in the 50's at 6:00. temperatures begin to drop so you will need extra layer. mid 30's for coldest spots. some low 30's in the low winter valleys. we do have rain coming in next week. a one monday tuesday. a two on tuesday with an atmospheric river. live doppler 7 tracking what is going to develop. here's a quick preview going into tuesday is than when storm moves in. it will bring us heavy rain at times. gusty winds and even some more big-time snow in the sierra nevada. i'll be back with a closer look at the wind, the rain totals. and a look at the winter storm

watch coming right up. but of course, your weekend as well. dan: today is the first full day that residents in pajaro have been able to return to their homes. many of those homes are still simply not habitable. zac puentes is there zac: it's been two weeks since a levee breach forced the evacuation of 2,000. homes, business and streets were under water. for some long-time residents it's the repeat. >> in 1995, the same problem. i live 30 years here. >> the evacuation order has been lifted. many have been seeing their homes, homes that are build the mud, standing water and mold. >> it she is bad inside. >> many had protective gear to start the cleanup process. clan today teachers held a one-day strike with pickets at three schools and rally at district head quarters. teachers called it a wildcat strike since the union did not authorize it. some teachers did not work today including here at skyline high school one of the picket locations. teachers say they're asking for a near 23% raise which would

bring them close to the median pay for teachers in california. according to a mystery -- -- history, the district countered with a 3.5% raise. >> we need to keep good mercer oakland. oak -- we need to keep good teachers here. >> we don't want to leave. >> some members of the oaklandao hold a one-day strike on friday, march 24th at a number of middle and high schools across oakland unified school district. the oakland education education system said this strike was not sanctioned by oaea. students were encouraged to attend classes. unfortunately, the action did keep some students and adversely affected students to instruction at some schools. the district will continue to negotiate in good faith with

let's fast forward to next week because monday night that storm begins to move in to the northern portion of california. late monday night into tuesday it's right over the bay area in the morning, we'll be seeing heavy rain. right now, this projection is showing windy conditions but notice the low pressure system still off the coast of northern california. as it gets closer, the winds will continue to ramp up on tuesday. then wednesday we will see those scattered showers. you'll notice sierra the picking up that snow. the european model are projects rain for over two inches in yo ukia. keep that in mind as we go hour by hour the winds will be pick up. tuesday morning out of the south, you will notice over 40 miles an hour, even stronger tuesday afternoon. we're talk 50 mile-an-hour wind. so there is likely going to be more trees going down and the potential is there for power outages. keep that in mind as you get
