we know it was an emotional day for many in the nashville area. at the forefront of mindses and hearts, those who lost a loved one yesterday, have you had a chance it speak with any of the victim's family members? >> no, yesterday was just a tragic event. it is something that we never hope happen. i have done this job for 35 years and i pray this would not be a day we would have to deal watch i have not had the opportunity yet to meet with the families. my hearts and prayers go out to the six victims the three children and three adults. i do plan to make some type of communication today with them. i know it is a tough time. >> absolutely that is understandable. convey condolences and hope they get all the support they need during this time.

chief drake, any new evidence you can share that was revealed over night? we know that was said the shooter left writings. have you determined a motive? >> so, we have not been able to determine i motive as of yet. the investigation is very much still on going. we do have writing in a book we consider to be like a manifesto. we have a map of the schools where diagrammed how she would enter. and was she might proceed to take on potential victims. we will have more communications. we have been to the house on brightwood. recovered more fire arms at that house. and we will continue picking up where we left off yesterday and see where it leads us. >> do you know if the shooter reached out to anyone beforehand?

>> there are speculation that the shooter did roach out to men a friends or other people. but as of now, that is unconfirmed. as i said, the investigation is on going. but when we know more we will continue it put those facts out there as we are able to confirm them. >> you have, sir, straightforward in press conferences yesterday. we know the public families and everyone appreciates that. and also showing your compassion. you did mention earlier in this interview, that it brought you to tears, what you witnessed. and hope this would never happen in your city. but that if it did, that you knew your officers would not hesitate to confront the shooter especially when children are involved. can you speak to that? what would you want to say to the first responders? >> absolutely. we have been through that training. i gone through that training
