to good morning america about the indictment, saying the trials could happen as early as next week. he is the first president, former or current, to face criminal charges. a manhattan grand jury handed out the indictment yesterday after a years long investigation into hush money payments made to adult film actress stormy daniels in the weeks before the 2016 election. the charges hinge not on the payment, but rather because this -- hush money payments are generally legal -- but how the money and payments were arranged. no one knows what charges trump is facing because the indictment is under seal. the attorney says they are working out details for trump's arraignment. >> the president will not be in handcuffs. i am sure they will try to make

sure they get some, you know, joy out of this by bringing him. there is no precedent for this case. this was done with personal money, george. that's the key distinguishing factor. statutorily, the law says this -- if the payment was made with personal funds, and it would have been made irrespective of the candidate's campaign, it's outside of campaign financing, and that's clearly what you have here. jobina: he says president trump was apparently "shocked" being indicted, although he predicted his own arrest. the das office is investigating a tech and alleged trump payment to former playboy model karen mcdougal as well. reggie: president trump will have to travel back to new york city to be arraigned. it's the first time a person being arraigned will be under secret service protection.

we are talking about thousands of them. a criminal complaint details homeland security agents were investigating a network they say ships controlled substances made in india, which led them to segovia. she allegedly had 61 shipments mailed to her home from countries all around the world this year, some even labeled wedding party favors, what we are told. federal investigators intercepted those shipments, saying they found thousands of narcotics pills. this was part of the scheme to distribute the drugs across the u.s., what federal prosecutors believe. we spoke with the police union president about the allegations made against segovia. she is a 20 year employee of the union. >> shocked. i am saddened. as the days have gone by, i am at a place where i am w it's a reminder of how accessible this is and we, from
