in washington with more on what this all means. good morning. >> good morning. this isn't an april fools' joke where the blue check mark millions of people have gotten used to is now gone. in order to keep your verified mark, users will need to pay $8 a month for twitter blue. a subscription service that allows anyone who pays to be verified with a blue check. users will need to verify who they are by providing their phone number. ranting them access to certain features like editing or undoing a tweet. twitter says official organizations and some government officials will continue to be verified with a ter inial launcd official profin blue check verification system in 2009 for that is all to distinguish themselves from impersonators. with the new announcement, the problem at hand is anyone can attain a blue check mark.

from los angeles on the plea deal and what it could mean for actor alec baldwin. good morning. >> that is the question. could others follow? the hearing is set for next month. it will decide whether evidence against them is enough to go to trial. >> i am not persuaded that a deferred sentence is appropriate for you in this case. so you are sentence as follows. >> "rust" versus assistant director sentenced to six months of unsupervised probation as part of a plea deal in the fatal onset shooting of "rust" cinematographer. it comes after an incident in 2021 when actor alec baldwin handled a firearm that discharged a live bullet at hutchins. >> never let anyone's imagination -- anyone think that there could possibly be a live round. >> the revolver that finally struck hutchins and pleaded no contest to a charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon during a virtual hearing.
