those with a high bmi due to genetics had a lower risk of stroke, heart attack and heart disease than those who gained weight to lifestyle choices. so let's bring in abc news medical contributor dr patel to break it all down. we love having you in person. how significant is this study when it comes to obesity and the risk of cardiovascular diseases? you absolutely nailed it. and this adds to the growing body of evidence that even in individuals who are overweight or obese, your lifestyle may actually matter more than the genetics and the cards that were dealt with when we are born. it was actually designed and really elegant waste. we just researchers looked at about 9000 pairs of twins. to control for the genetics, so this should be a very important news for everyone out there in the public health world. so does this change anything for those dealing with weight gain weight ? i hope it adds empowerment to everyone out there and they realize that hey, wait, b m i. these are just one number. this is just one metric in our overall health. so regardless of what your situation is this study, the green body of evidence tells us that there's a lot that we can actually do to

thanks for having me. absolutely so these recipes are all on our website right now, if you scan that qr code on the screen that we're going to have in just a moment, all baked on sheet pans so they can cook up quick. we're starting with eggs and pancakes. what's the first step for the for either of those recipes? yes so the first step in doing any kind of sheet pan recipe is really using some perch. mint paper. this is going to save you so especially for eggs, something that can stick to even the skillet when you're making them so i have my parchment paper here. you want to go up on the edges, but here's the trick . spray the baking sheet with some cookies right? then put the parchment down and do another spray. that's going to hold it down there. then you put her eggs and i was making my eggs with a little bit of milk. and the same process with the pancakes. however with the pancakes, i always do butter instead of cooking spray, because what that does when you put it in the oven because that's how we're cooking is right in the oven. and when you do that it creates that sort of round of butter taste that you get from the skillet that you
8:52 am
don't want to lose that when you're in the oven, so i like doing butter for that. and then with great about this is that you can customize them as you like. so, for instance, when you're on, you know, doing this on the stove and customizing them for everybody. everybody's eating before you want to do the same time as everybody else, and i find that to be highly unfair. so what you can do is youan tulyection these off the toppin let's say somebody doesn't like chocolate. that is not anybody in my house. everyone here and then pick them up and they are great and you can eat them all together. it's so fun. okay maria, so your last recipe. it's one of the kids are gonna love. that's why we're eating this already. we have the store bought versions here, but you're making some homemade toaster pastries, which i wish we could try here. i know kids and kids at heart, right? so yeah, it all starts with some some pie dough. you can make your own from scratch. i'm a friend, scratch girl, but i'm not gonna judge you if you get some from the store, but the key to this is rolling out. you're having your parchment paper set
8:53 am
and then rolling out pie dough and cutting it into a large rectangular shape then i put in some jelly, but you could do any kind of really, really that you like and then topped this with another sheet of the pied a boom and then you just use the fork to create those little lines and poke some holes. and then once it comes out, it's gonna look beautiful like that, and you're done. look at that. that's amazing. thank you. so much for this. we're all going to be making those those toaster pastries appreciated and get that recipe on our website and we'll be right back here on g m a. here we go. okay? everyone can be an american idol this season. the best is yet to come. american idol new sundays on abc. dan ashley, are you ready to rock the cost of the help children in need? my annual charity concert for kids is back
