moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc7news. >> indicate there was some type of issue and mr. momeni was upset at mr. lee. >> good evening. and thanks for joining >> we learn more about the case and the timeline released by the das office today. here is how the charging documents lays out the final 12 hours of bob lee's life. lee, a man described as a witness, nima momeni's sister, and another woman were drinking at an apartment on mission street. lee and the witness left and went to his hotel along the embarcadero. that is where the witness hurriedly speaking with momeni about the suspect's sister. tuesday, april 4, lee was seen on surveillance cameras entering the millennium tower. cameras captured momeni's

arrival hours earlier. they leave together around 2 a.m. 30 minutes later, the police respond to 365 main street where they find lee fatally wounded, stabbed three times, one stabbed and penetrating his heart. despite the new details that are still many more questions. tim johns has been going through the court documents obtained earlier today and joins us live in the newsroom with more. reporter: allegedly happened the morning that lee was murdered. the san francisco district attorney held a news conference and i was there to get more answers. after the arraignment of 38-year-old murder suspect nima momeni was pushed back, san francisco da brooks jenkins appearing before the media friday afternoon. earlier in the day court document revealing stunning new details about the events that allegedly happened during the final hours of tech executive bob lee's life.

lee knew both momeni sister, although prosecutors are tightlipped about the exact nature of the relationship. >> there was some type of dispute between the two men, at least that mr. momeni was upset with mr. lee about something. reporter: the office believes that momeni should remain in jail for the duration of the trial. >> at this point in time we are looking at first-degree murder. this is a person who was in his vehicle with a kitchen knife. that is not something most of us carry around. reporter: a charge momeni's attorney disagrees with. >> the charges are very serious, charged with murder. reporter: his legal counsel spoke with abc7news from france. >> there was no premeditation, deliberation, no malice. if there is no malice, by definition it is not murder. reporter: lee's murder sparked

headlines across the world and the perceived crime in san francisco. city leaders have pushed back on that narrative and point to the fact the city has one of the lowest homicide rates in the nation. jenkins reiterating that stance and promising her office is committed to justice for all victims of crime in the city. >> this is not indicative of the state of affairs in san francisco on our streets. that doesn't mean we still don't have a lot of work to do from a bullet safety standpoint. reporter: momeni is scheduled to next to be in court april 25. >> tim, much appreciated. three people in police custody in connection with a shooting last week that killed a five-year-old girl. court documents show investigators believe the shooting of the little girl identified only as eliyanah is believed to be gang related. the police say shortly before the deadly shooting another person was shot at by three people in a red honda in fremont. no one was hit, but the suspects from that shooting are gang members.

15 minutes later, according to the da, the shooting that killed eliyanah happened. invest get a say the honda believed to be connected with the fremont shooting pulled alongside the family suv. the da says the suspects believed it was a rival gang vehicle. a santa clara city council member faces felony perjury charges for allegedly lying to a civil grand jury. prosecutors say anthony becker falsely denied leaking a grand jury report about an alleged unethical relationship between several city council members, including himself and the 49ers. he is also accused of leaking the report to a local media outlet. becker has yet to comment. the 49ers issued a statement saying they have cooperated fully with the district attorney's office in their investigation and will continue to do so. >> new development with last night's deadly police shooting a new work. the police at was a carjacking suspect kills. -- killed.

the police said the california department of justice will be involved in the investigation. legislation says the state will investigate and officer-involved shooting results in the death of an unarmed citizen. it is no secret that fare evasion is one of the problems bart is trying to get out of control. some believe that it leads to crime and homelessness. bart is moving forward with plans to revamp the stations with new fair gates. yesterday bart awarded the $90 million contract to a company to replace approximately 700 gates systemwide. the first are expected to be installed this november, with the plant replace all of the gates by 2026. >> look at these long lines, this is a side effect of the winter. soaked farm fields have left many family struggling to survive since there is no work for them right now. abc7news reporter lauren martinez spoke to some about how they are getting by.

reporter: more than 1000 farm workers and their family stood in downtown watsonville for food and other resources friday. >> the line never went down. it started out clear down the block. reporter: the center for farmworker families of the free monthly resource event lasted five hours. for some farm work ends in november and begins around march, but after months of rain and flooding from the levy break, work has not even started. this woman who did not what to give her name said to since she has not worked since 2022 she came to this free distribution event to ask for diapers and clothing for her baby. she hasn't received a call from her boss to return to the fields and she has had no luck finding work elsewhere. >> it is not that people don't want to work. they want to be responsible for themselves just as much as much as you or i do. they cannot do that right now because there is no work. reporter: the executive director

for center for farmworker families has not seen a solution that will carry the community into the future. >> what will we do without these people? all of us are dependent on them for their food. this is no way to treat human beings. reporter: the past three years the organization has held a food and resource distribution event at this private driveway. the event got so big and the need is so large they will now have to change locations. >> i really don't know, without federal and state intervention, i'm very scared for people. people are saying they are down to their last money. reporter: lauren martinez, abc7news. >> president biden declared a disaster for the region but help is still needed in the watsonville area. if you would like to pitch in there is more information at our website, abc7news.com. >> the supreme court is allowing widespread access to the abortion drug mifepristone for now. the court will take time to more fully consider the issues raised in a legal challenge.

the high pressure bringing us the sunshine today. the storm track well to the north. with the ridge build again, warmer weather to start off the weekend saturday. sunday will be cooler in the bay area. the warmer weather prompting a flood watch for the sierra nevada tomorrow afternoon until monday morning, as temperatures come into the mid and upper 50's. tahoe will see the snow melt, which is concerning. if you are here locally, watch out, there is fog that has read near the coastline -- fog that has regrouped near the coastline. seven mile sand carlos, but tomorrow morning there could be pockets of thick fog. 40's and 50's on the temperature right now, perfect weather for game one at tip-off tomorrow night at the chase center. if you were outside in thrive city watching the game as the dubs take on the kings, or vice versa because they will be in sacramento, dropping into the low 50's.

i love all my babies. i really do like the leather. i like the old bookstore a lot, um, the fresh cut wood, so things that are a little outdoorsy and have a certain woodsy feel, i like those. [upbeat music] diane: our treat. yo. self. candle is probably my favorite one. it's just got a kind of a spa feel to it, and so it can be really relaxing and maybe reminisce about a nice feeling you might have had at a spa. a candle scent brings them to an emotional space, brings them to a happier place if they smell fresh cut grass, it smells like springtime. it smells like the year is starting fresh. there's a lot of promise. our treat. yo. self. it smells like a luxury hotel, so they feel a little bit like you're being spoiled, like they're-- like they're on a mini vacation. diane: candles can transport you, and they're pretty, too. and it adds love, ambience to a room, and i think that they can be extremely comforting.

[upbeat music] jay: i'd never owned a candle or anything, and then, you know, sean opened this company. i was like, i'll buy a couple candles, you know, help a friend. and then i lit one in my classroom, and i loved it. i teach at a school for kids with learning differences, and some of them have really high sensitivities. they complain about the noise. they complain about the lights. but the candles, everybody unanimously enjoys. shawn: make sure we got a good temperature read here. so we started three years ago, a little bit, few months before the pandemic, really looking for a hobby that would be away from the screen, less computer time, something that was a little craftier, a little easier to get into. and then took an online course from udemy about how to make a candle. came to find out it was pretty easy to make a good candle. it was hard to make a great candle. so just kept trying, kind of mad scientist style, experimenting and a little more, a little more of this, a little more of that, little more of this scent-- trying different scents to come up with what we've got today.

diane: i was mostly an observer in the beginning. this is really sean's thing. i was a supportive spouse. well, as a business grew, then that's where my talents came in, because i could do the operational side without thinking. i'm kind of crafty, so i can do things like put wicks in jars and get things organized and aligned. jay: sean he said, "i'm starting a candle company." and i was like, "of course you are, 'cause you can do anything." he has incredible mix of abilities that kind of applies to anything. and he brought a couple of tester candles, and i was pretty anxious about that moment 'cause he's a really good friend of mine. and what if they're terrible? and he uncapped them and they were amazing. shawn: we do a lot of experimentation. we've got some that i thought would be really big sellers that appealed to me. there's a leather candle that i just love the smell of it, and it just doesn't sell for whatever reason. and then others that you think this will never sell.
