waking up to mostly cloudy conditions, little fog around the san mateo coast and looking at the current numbers, 50 hayward, union city, 49 fremont, and cooler numbers in the north bay with low 40's, mid 40's in livermore and slightly warmer than yesterday. a couple degrees around the bayshore but inland, a lot warmer in livermore. the trend continues. there is a look outside sfo where we get plenty of sunshine throughout the mid morning hours. then temperatures climbing to the 50's. by noon, upper 50's to low 60's bayshore and inland staying cool in the 50's and breezy at the coast but near average, maybe a few 70's today. liz: thank you. this morning, police are looking for any potential victims after an element or schoolteacher in san bruno was arrested for sexily assaulting students. according to send -- san bernardino police, the student

15 minutes later, the shooting, which killed her, happened. the honda believed to be connected pulled alongside the families suv. the alameda county da says the suspect thought it was a rifle -- rival gang car. the santa clara county gang member faces felony perjury charges for allegedly lying to a civil grand jury. prosecutors anthony becker falsely denied leaking a grand jury report about an alleged unethical relationship between several council members including himself. and the 49ers as well. becker is also accused of leaking the report to local media outlets. becker has yet to comment. the 49ers issued a statement saying they have cooperated fully with the district attorney's office and our investigation -- and their investigation and will continue to do so. today in oakland, members of the african-american community are holding a press conference to address recent issues in alameda county including questions around new district attorney pamela price and the firing of oklahoma police chief armstrong. chief armstrong will be there along with pastors, local leaders, and families and will

address the impacts of violent crime and what they call noncommunication. the new oakland mayor -- from the new oakland mayor and district attorney price. it is no secret fair of one of the -- fare evasion is one of the problems they need to address. bart is moving forward with plans to revamp the stations with fare gates. bart awarded the contract to company to release about 700 gates systemwide. the first gates are expected to be installed this november with a plan to replace all the gates by 2026. people in monterey county are picking up the county after severe weather brought floodwaters sweeping into their homes and fields. those soaked field left families struggling to survive since there is no work for them now. lauren martinez spoke to some about how they are getting by. lauren: more than 1000 farmworkers and family stood in line in downtown watsonville for

food and other resources friday. >> the line never went down. >> it started out clear down the block. lauren: the nonprofit center for farmworker families said this free monthly resource event lasted for five hours. for some, farm work ends in november and begins around march. after months of rain and flooding for the levee break, work has not even started. >> [speaking spanish] lauren: this woman who did not want tosinc she has not worked since 2022, she came to this redistribution event to ask for diapers and clothes for her baby. she has not received a call from her boss to return to the field and she has had no luck finding work elsewhere. >> it's not people don't want to work, they want to be responsible to themselves just as much as you are i do. -- or that because there's no work. lauren: they haven't seen a solution that will carry this

liz: welcome back. here's a live look from our camera looking over the bay on this saturday morning. we are just hours away from the warriors opening the playoffs in sacramento against the kings. for those who are not going or would prefer to enjoy the game with a few thousand of nation fans, drive city outside of chase center is hosting a watch party. reporter tara campbell tells us the excitement is already brewing.

immediately by after the game. one of the biggest weeks for dining out in the bay area is now underway. san francisco restaurant week friday, but 200 restaurants participating in the spring promotion, offering multicourse meals ranging from $10 for brunch or lunch to 75 for dinner. deals drew a large eating crowd to the restaurant. >> restaurant week as a way to launch menu food items and let people come in and try some of our standout music items like fried chicken sandwich and smashburger and things at that. liz: there are more than 30 restaurants in chinatown participating. deals last until april 23. for more information, go to sf restaurantweek.com. beekeepers say bees were slow to emerge from their hives during the cold front and weeks of rain showers. most commercial beekeepers on their bees to california early in the year to help pollinate the state's $5 billa ar allman crop.

locked. >> and brian recorded this video recently of a mama bear known as jacuzzi enter cubs. a few of the nearly 150 bears that were under homes this year during hibernation. but now snow is melting along with the bears coming out like this massive one in tahoe city recently. vehicles are also emerging under snow banks and we are seeing broken sleds that were left on the ground. >> as that melts, it is not just the plants and flowers and animals coming back out, it is the litter emerging and pluming itself. >> joseph sent us these photos showing those of the those of lake tahoe busy cleaning these up. it still covers the ground in many areas and they are especially concerned about mama bears being able to find food. >> bears don't just sit and wait for the snow to melt and they don't sit and think we are hungry but what will we do, they

the toyota prius is now the most targeted vehicle. one man had the catalytic converter in his toyota prius stolen on two different occasions. the second happened even after he put -- had his mechanic put a metal plate under the car to block access to the convert about thieves cut around it. auto shops are struggling to keep up with demand for replacement parts. >> the dealer will say six months. i've ordered catalytic inverters for more than six months. the guy comes in for toyota all the time and drops of points and says we have over 50 pre-us is sitting the lot and they have been for a long time. >> they have become the most targeted because their catalytic converters contain more unused precious metals than standard gas vehicles. today, -- will cyclists and hikers will be able to access the parco cars will not be allowed. the attraction has been closed for three months due to storm damage from january's atmospheric river's. downed trees and mudslides and -- on the trails forced them to
