this letter to contra costa county district attorney diana becton. she said, dismiss all public defender cases involving antioch police department, agreed to release incarcerated clients, and cease filing any cases. this after reports show homophobic text messages allegedly sent by antioch police officer's over almost two years. have you seen anything like this before? >> no. this is a huge moment. anser: the deputy publi defender says the text messages show what police officers are doing and in their own words. an example of one exchange. one texted, so many black people. the other said, they all look the same. tell me about it. i feel like i am at the zoo. i hate these idiots. cases based on the word of officers must be dismissed. >> a traffic stop where an

officer believing they identified somebody on video, those cases should all be dismissed. these officers should not have any credibility. anser: the public defender's office says this could impact thousands of cases, including those involving violent crime. but those could require more litigation. >> it may be up to the judges to determine how big a remedy to give. anser: one attorney, who represents one raising concerns about detective robert gerber, who was named in the report. he testified as a gang expert as it relates to special enhancement. those charges could lead to life in prison without the possibility of parole. >> that enhancement is, in large part, founded on gerber's testimony. the impact is tremendous and it infects every as

client. liz: teachers in the oakland unified school district will vote tomorrow whether to strike. negotiations with the district have been going on for six months and there's still no deal on the table. the school board has approved budget reductions for next year. those are designed to make room for pay raises for teachers but union representatives say increases in state funding should be enough to fairly compensate teachers. the warriors are looking ahead to game two of the opening playoffs against the gangs. it was a wild finish in sacramento and you sought on abc 7. the warriors had their chances. they were up 10 points in the third quarter but the kings dominated late. harrison barnes gave the kings a six point lead. andrew wiggins had the chance to give the lead. steph curry had the chance to send it to overtime but could not connect and the kings won 6 26-123.

here's emeryville where temperatures are around 60 degrees. just shy of average. only in the mid-50's yesterday for san francisco. it was 64 along the peninsula. we had just a couple of 70's but the winds kicked in allowing for the corrected. morning clouds, afternoon sun. looking at a possible shower or sprinkle monday night into tuesday and then much warmer. we turn around by thursday and friday. here is early today where the winds are already over 20 miles per hour. by the afternoon they kick up and are moving up to 30 miles per hour at the coast. another cool day in the 50's but you have the sun throughout the day. later on still breezy and then we will be looking and trekking a system coming down from the north. increasing clouds late in the day. late day monday it is a dry ride but maybe some sprinkles through cloverdale, ukiah, and then the

colder air lower snow levels. lake county could see snow but the rain here may, be a little bit of drizzle, translating into mountain snow but amounting to very little. you might see a sprinkle through early tuesday and anywhere from three to five inches from south lake and kirkwood. up toward incline, six inches around donner. for the south bay the next seven days cooler than average. that trend continues as we drop off to about 60 tomorrow. tuesday is cool and breezy. wednesday high-pressure wants to build in again. we will see temperatures climb above average just-in-time for next weekend. highs today in the upper 50's. low 60's along the peninsula. cooler day for everyone with clouds in the north bay. the accuweather 7-day forecast

suzanne phan has a closer look at the proposal. suzanne: what do you think about this? >> it is out of scale to the area. suzanne: imagine a skyscraper going up at this garden? 55 stories. >> that does not make sense for an area like this. suzanne: the proposal calls for 712 apartments, 15,000 square feet of retail space, 113 affordable units, bike parking and a car basement. we showed neighbors renderings. >> i do not know how that footprint is sustainable out here. >> it is bizarre. >> it looks like it should be in dubai or the uae but not the sunset across from the. suzanne: we reached out to the developer but have not heard back. san francisco's planning department director released this statement saying, the proposed project is flat-out inconsistent with local zoning rules and state density bonus laws.

it sets back our efforts to add housing on the city's west side. frankly, it is a distraction. local leaders agree. >> it is a distraction from the housing work that we are doing. i do not think they are relying on any housing law that i authored as a legislator. i think they are relying on the state density bonus law which has been around 40 years. >> we need to housing all throughout the west side. that site needs housing but to pop a salesforce tower there is ridiculous? suzanne: more than 1500 people signed a petition to stop another plan that would've put up a 12 story building in the same spot. suzanne has lived in the outer sunset since 1993. >> i know there is a lot of issues with affordable housing and resources. suzanne: she says we need more housing but it has got to be sustainable. she says the new proposal is not the answer. >> it does not fit out here in a

catch the cherry blossom festival in san francisco. festivities kick off at 11:00 this morning. the grand parade begins at 1:00. they normally see about 220,000 people per year taking in the culture. this lines up with the blooming of the cherry blossom trees. it will also include karate, raffles and more. the city of oakland will honor the high school state champions with a parade. the oakland tech girls basketball team is celebrating their third consecutive title and this is the oakland high school boy's first-ever title. each team will ride the bus around downtown. the parade kicks off at 11:30 this money at children's fairyland. the warriors honored both teams last month. congratulations. lisa, we have got to get through the next few days of cold weather and then we have nice weather. lisa: i am sure we have the heavy jacket around. you will need them. later on today it is quite
