calls from democrats for her to resign. feinstein is 89 years old and is the oldest sitting member of congress. she has not voted since late february while recovering from a case of shingles. she has missed 60 votes, including roughly two dozen in the judiciary committee, which is stalling the confirmation of federal judge appointees. >> we will need votes on the senate floor eventually, like with the debt ceiling. i think what we need to do is take her at her word that she is recovering and ensure that she comes back. if this goes on month after month after month then she will have to make a decision with her family and friends about what her future holds. deon: feinstein is working from home in san francisco. she insists she will return. she has asked chuck schumer to temporarily appoint a replacement on the judiciary committee so the judicial appointees can be confirmed. that could be easier said than done, to the point -- to appoint
