joining us. i am dion lim. neighbors and applicants stood together demanding safer streets for all. not everyone agreed on how to make that happen. abc 7 news reporter kerner -- cornell barnard was there. >> if it was up to meet we would take our streets back. >> this neighborhood activist and others stood on the steps of city hall demanding safer streets in san francisco. they say drug dealing and open air drug use is out of control. >> what breaks my heart the most is that everyday working families are walking by these drug scenes. >> there are little children up in this building. you need to take this summer else. >> he has posted his exchanges with suspected drug dealers and users in front of his soma apartment house. >> we can't take more of a problem anymore. all we need to get this done is to come together as san franciscans and fix the issues. >> advocates believe that fix should involve more police

staffing and greater consequences for drug dealing. >> i come from a long line of addiction and people who used to use in my family. when they got caught with drugs they went to jail but you know what, it got them clean. >> this sidewalk cannot be the place. the neighborhoods cannot be t place where we are allowing drug use. >> i am also supervised consumption facilities. i know that is something a lot of people don't want to hear, but i think we have to do both. >> earlier this m london breed required -- requested federal help to prosecute drug dealers. >> i agree that we will not be able to do this alone given how much it exploded over the last couple of years. i am doing my level best along with sfpd, but we would love support and assistance from the federal government. >> not everyone at this valley supported the message. this man was shut it down.

>> you want to lock up people who need help but i am the problem. >> the debate continues on how to control a drug crisis. >> what i'm saying on the neighborhood streets is a lot of needles. >> cornell barnard. >> months after mass shootings and monterey park and half moon bay, members of the api community are calling on banks to stop financing gun manufacturers. the api victory alliance launched its campaign in the heart of san francisco's chinatown at portsmouth square. the organization is putting pressure on wells fargo to cut all ties with the gun industry. powerful advocacy groups like march for our lives are getting behind them. >> we are trained to bring the light as asian americans. we have the power to stop a lot of this. we have a choice where we invest our dollars and where we deposit our paychecks. >> supported the efforts around

that campaign to essentially call out wells fargo for funding the gun industry. and really emphasize the fact that they stand in solidarity with the api community yet are funding the same weapons that impacted people in the community. >> wells fargo says in part we listen carefully to all voices and all points of view in the ongoing firearms debate and take each of them seriously. our communities, schools, places of business and neighborhoods must be kept safe from gun violence. in 2018, bloomberg news reported wells fargo as the gun industries top financer. the ceo said in 2020 that its relationship with the nra was declining but activists say it is not enough. to developing news now, a shooting in data veil alabama has left at least four people dead -- in dadeville alabama has left at least four people dead. it unfolded during a sweet sixteen birthday party.

feinstein to resign. she is the oldest sitting member of congress and has not voted since february while recovering from shingles. she has missed 60 votes, including two dozen in the important senate judiciary committee, which is installing the confirmation of federal judge appointees. >> we will need your vote on the senate floor eventually. we have things like the debt ceiling coming up. what we need to do is take things at her work. she is recovering and we need to make sure if you go -- comes back. -- that she comes back. if this keeps going she will have to make a decision about what the future holds. deon: she is currently working from home in san francisco, and senator feinstein insists that she will return to the senate. in the meantime she has asked the senate majority leader to appoint a replacement on the judiciary committee so the appointees can be confirmed. that could be easier said than done. to appoint ever placement, she

will need bipartisan support. -- a replacement she will need bipartisan report. e-40 says that racial bias led to him getting kicked out of last night's playoff game between the wires and kings. he was asked to leave the arena midway through the fourth quarter. e-40 is a long time golden state warriors fan. and he says that after being disrespectfully heckled he turned around to confront the fan heckling him. that is when kings and lawyers officials intervened, which led to a tense exchange of words and the removal of e-40 from the stands. wires guard klay thompson called this unfortunate. >> he has been our biggest supporter for years and i hope they fix that because he deserves to be here by our bench and my time knowing him he has always been respectful and considerate of those around him. it was very weird to see that. >> in a text to nba
