america's teacher of the year. from abc news in new york. this is america this morning. good thursday morning, everyone i'm really in an alley and i'm andrew timber. we begin with breaking news and severe weather outbreak in the middle of the country right now, the death toll rising overnight as we get new images from the storm zone. this morning, a path of destruction near oklahoma city. we were able to see kind of where the path of the storm is. after multiple reported tornadoes, this new video showing the damage in hard hit shawnee, oklahoma. you can see this is the lowe's hardware store right over here, and it looks like some of the roof took a lot of damage from the storm. i can see a lot of the roofing out into the parking lot area. there's also a hole in it. at least two deaths are blamed on the storms in mclean county, where overnight authorities said they were rescuing people trapped in their underground shelters. there are hundreds and hundreds of first sponder and

the investigation into president biden's son hunter is being mishandled. the claims are from an i. r s supervisor who's now coming forward to congress. a bcs lindsey watts is here now with more lindsay. good morning. good morning. andrew, a career investigator. with the irs coming forward, claiming the investigation into hunter biden shows clear conflicts of interest this morning and i are supervisors suggests he has information that the biden administration could be mishandling the investigation into hunter biden's tax affairs . the man's lawyer says his client is seeking whistleblower protections, which would allow him to disclose information about the investigation to congress wants to do it in illegal, proper fashion. and that's why i have written to both democrats and republicans on the key committees, asking that they take his testimony. in a letter to lawmakers, the whistleblower's lawyer writes that his client has been overseeing the ongoing investigation of a high profile controversial subjects since early 2020, adding his information contradicts sworn
