as we head toward friday, even warmer weather is about to move in. we will look at those numbers in a few minutes. reggie: new development in the east bay, the effort to keep the a's in oakland has officially failed. the team making a big announcement about their future in las vegas. the mayor says she is already moving on. jobina: you and i both know, we've been covering the story for years. there are some any people upset. the a's announced late last night they've entered a binding purchase agreement for land not far from the las vegas strip. the team saying the process to build a new ballpark at howard terminal made little forward progress for some time. the plan passed through environment overview. more details needed to be ironed out. in a statement, they said we have made a strong and sincere effort to stay here. we recognize this is very hard to hear, we are disappointed

we've been unable to achieve our shared vision of a waterfront ballpark. the oakland mayor also released a statement, reading and part it is clear to me that the a's have no intention of staying in oakland and have simply been using this process to try to extract a better deal out of las vegas. i am not interested in continuing to play that game. the fans and our residents deserve better. the mayor says she will move forward to find alternative plans to redevelop howard terminal. the a's lease at the coliseum expires next year. when they leave, oakland will no longer have any professional sports teams. the raiders left most recently in 2020, the warriors left in 2019 to go to the other side of the bay. unfortunate. kumasi: definitely. new developments with the antioch police races text message scandal. a civil rights attorney is expected to announce a lawsuit against the city and its police

department later today. the scandal has resulted in about 20% of the police force on leave and several officers under investigation. an attorney for one resident allegedly targeted in a message sent by officers believes that because the number of officers involved, they could be considered a police gang under california law. >> code 13 670, it seems to me a lot what we have meets the definition of a law enforcement gang. kumasi: studies at san jose state university is telling abc 7 news he disagrees. all the behavior was not appropriate, it would be hard to argue it was criminal. he described the police force as more of a fraternity rather than a criminal gang. g to h.hed out for, and are

today, he was convicted of creating fake blood tests with his ex-girlfriend and boss. he was sentenced to nearly 13 years. they refused his request to delay the start of his prison term. holmes is scheduled to begin her sentence next week. kumasi: new developments with the ejection from game one of the king series. the kings and the rapper called the incident a quote misunderstanding, the kings clarify he did not stand excessively during the game and there was a miscommunication about what happened. the kings added that e attended games at golden one center in the past without issues and they look forward to welcoming him back to our arena in the future. the warriors and kings continue their series tonight at san francisco's chase center, we have a look at the matchup.

custody. in upstate new york, and other family in english after a 20-year-old was shot as she and a group of others drove up the wrong driveway, looking for a friends house. the homeowner pleading not guilty to murder charges, his lawyer says he felt threatened as multiple vehicles were revving engines. it comes after the shooting of a 16-year-old in kansas city who was shot twice after approaching the wrong house to pick up his brothers. he was shot in the arm and head, his lawyer says if the bullet went a fraction of an inch in another direction, he would likely be dead. as for the cheerleader peyton washington, she had to have her spleen removed and is said to be quote doing well. the series of shootings is putting new scrutiny on stand your ground laws. kumasi: the family of tyre nichols filed a lawsuit that
