in the deadly movie set shooting involving alec baldwin. as a result, they say they are dropping the charge of involuntary manslaughter against baldwin. special prosecutors who were appointed clearly don't believe that there's enough evidence to move forward with the trial against alec baldwin. baldwin was set to stay in trial for the shooting of cinematographer helena hutchins on the set of rust. but in a statement last night, prosecutors said new facts were discovered over the last few days, less than two weeks before the trial was set to begin. prosecutors did not disclose the new evidence. but the los angeles times reports prosecutors recently discovered the prop gun had been modified, increasing the odds that the gun might have misfired. two special prosecutors were appointed in the case last month after the previous special prosecutor resigned. no, no, no, no, no. i would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. never baldwin has denied pulling the trigger, insisting it went off accidentally.
