the getaway driver after a deadly shooting at the pleasanton home depot is due in court this morning. we are live with new details about what we are learning. amanda: as the f shooting victim continues to mourn, one of two suspects, is expect it to make his first court appearance. court documents detail that he is accused of being the getaway driver in that deadly shooting. they also revealed the second suspect, also an oakland resident claims she fired the gun accidentally, telling investigators the gun went off when the victim tried to wrestle a stolen item out of her hands. he was an unarmed loss prevention specialist working at home depot in pleasanton. investigators say the suspect was driven from the scene with a

toddler inside the car. the nissan pathfinder he is accused of driving is said to have been tracked back to his home in oakland where deputies took the suspects into custody. 10 minutes later, officer say they went back to check on him and found her unconscious. alleging despite being handcuffed, she was able to wrap a seat belt around her neck three times. >> we were able to sit her up, push her head back and untangle the seatbelt from around her neck. at that point, they pulled her out of the car and while she was on the ground, she took an enormous breath and regained consciousness. deputies saved this woman's life. amanda: she is accused of shooting the 26-year-old, someone described by family as a selfless man who dreamed of also taking his own oath to protect life by becoming a police officer.

he planned to get married in august and leaves behind his parents, brother and fiance. we know that later this morning, gilroy will be in court to be arraigned and in the next half hour, we will talk about the specific charges each suspect is facing. reggie: the coliseum say rooted in oakland since 1968. the mayor says a phone call with the team this week changed a lot. we are getting a better idea of how this unfolded and what is next. during a news conference, the mayor let it all out, saying oakland was closer than it ever had been to finalizing the project with the a's as early as this summer, but you got the call wednesday the team was entering a deal to buy land for a new stadium in vegas. >> this announcement happened mid negotiations and it shows that they had no interest in reaching a deal with oakland at all. oakland is not interested in

being used as leverage in the a's negotiations with las vegas. the call was pretty short, and when you get a call saying we are going to sign and we found land in las vegas, that is pretty definitive to me. reggie: the mayor says she is going to listen if the a's change their mind or if the nude -- or if a new team wants to build in oakland. kumasi: plans to build a stadium in the bay area have been filled with pitfalls. talks for downtown san jose stadium began in 1997, but that plan was blocked by the san francisco giants who claimed rights to santa clara county. in 2006, the a's considered moving to fremont and they moved again in san jose but this time major league baseball approved the move. in 2017, a stadium planned at the laney college fell through. in 2021, the a's got permission to locate outside the bay area,

culminating with a stadium site in las vegas. we are also looking at the economic impact of the a's leaving the bay area behind. been as of the live desk with what we might expect. jobina: the inevitable departure of the a's is hard to ignore with roots deep in oakland, losing the team also means losing jobs. in 2019, the bay area council economic institute instituted a new ballpark would generate $7.3 million in economic benefits over 10 years and create more than 6100 jobs. losing the team means losing hundreds of full and part-time jobs that keep the coliseum going. everything from concession workers and groundskeepers to an administration. here is the alameda county supervisor. >> a hit to the economy, because there are jobs at the coliseum, union paying jobs. people depended on those jobs. if we built a new stadium, those

would have been construction jobs as well. jobina: it is not just jobs, it is a hit to youth sports as well. a little league president says the a's have been great supporters of legal -- of little league teams in the east bay. >> it will affect our bottom line. they have definitely been a great partner to us. it is a terrible thing to happen, for kids, for me. jobina: for the past eight years, the major-league team has been supplying uniforms to 24 little league teams every season, the cost of sitting around $8,000. here is what the a's arik spector to move to in las vegas. it is located near the strip. home. it is a 49 acre site and is excited to have a seating capacity of around 35,000 and they hope to break ground by next year and host games by 2027. we will continue to watch that. reggie: a formal request has

been made for a new interim stadium lease near the coliseum. the men's and women's soccer teams have held their games at laney college for the past five years and now they say due to recent field requirements, audience growth and team expansions, the new location is necessary. the proposal for the new interim field is adjacent to the coliseum. if approved, the city would allow both teams to play at the lot for up to 10 years. kumasi: dubnation is celebrating after a decisive win at g center. despite being down draymond green, the warriors used good vibes to pull off a game three victory. the final score was 114-97. steph curry scored a game-high 36 points. >> this is an opportunity to make it about basketball. making the right adjustments, coming with the right energy to protect our home court. when he gets back on sunday, we have to capitalize off of that and even up the series.

reggie: people living in venetia can start using more water. the city is reducing its water use conservation from 40% to 20%. city council declared an emergency last month due to a break in a main water line after 680 collapsed during a storm. crews are still working to add capacity for summertime demand. it has been a month since the last big storm in the bay area and people are still cleaning up and wondering what they will do next. they are also pointing out problems that may have kept falling trees from damaging homes. lauren martinez has that. >> it is just not safe to be out here. i can't use my deck or sit in the sun comfortably because i don't -- i know this is not stable. lauren: a 60 foot douglas for crashed -- douglas fraed into t one month later, damage can be seen outside and inside.the onee thic and has poked

reggie this is interesting because the a's are probably leaving and meanwhile in san francisco, the giants are about to open an apartment building. it is going up right next to arauca park. according to the chronicle, the giants and their codeveloper will begin welcoming residents to the new building in june. they also released rendering of what the tower will look like. it is the first of four buildings to be completed at mission rock. all part of a 20 acre -- 28 acre mixed-use project. this used to be a giant parking lot. some of the units are being reserved for affordable housing through the city lottery system. a two-person household making just over 106 t $6,000 a year would pay about $3500 for a one bedroom apar it is amazing how much the area has changed.

a bay area county is investing $1 million to get more kids up-to-date on vaccines. santa clara county is launching a campaign called vaccines are another part of growing up. the website provides information and resources to parents about finding vaccines, records and low-cost ways of a -- of obtaining them. national data shows a decline of childhood vaccines during the pandemic. the santa clara helped apartment how the listening session and they found out children were missing appointments because of reasons for lidded to the pandemic -- reasons related to the pandemic. >> look and unity was asking to provide more information on the vaccines. we want it to reach all the community in our county so they get informed and they know that the vaccines are safe. reggie: data from the california department of public health shows hundreds of santa clara county kindergartners are past due for required vaccinations.

it is something the county says puts them at risk of illness and keeps them from going to school. a container worth millions of dollars was stolen from a toronto airport this week. crew unloaded cargo from aircraft and took it to a holding facility, and then poof, gone. all they say is that it was taken by illegal means. they did not say which airline was involved in the handling of the cargo. >> the container contained a high-value shipment. it did contain gold and it was nonexclusive. it contained other items of monetary value. the total worth estimated at this time in our investigation for the property is estimated at just over $20 million. reggie: that's about $15 million u.s.. no arrests have been made. we don't have information about possible suspects. the greater ton cnt, saying it was still an active investigation.

reggie: developing news in the antioch police department recent -- racist text scandal. there is no a lawsuit and calls for the department of justice to get involved. >> good morning. two bay area congressmen have sent a letter to the ger, he departme oicto igthe antih civil rights attorney has filed a federal lawsuit against the city of antioch in an effort to bring reform to thrtment. the lawsuit brought by alleged victims of the antioch police department claims civil rights violations. the suit is based on findings from an investigation into the department by the fbi and the contra costa county district attorney's office. they found emails and text messages that included racist, homophobic and sexist comments that investigators say were sent by officers. the police department shall be held responsible for allowing it to occur and doing nothing to stop it. >> some of the things they said

were so horrific, that it truly made me cringe to think that these are the people who are supposed to be serving the people of this community. knowing what i know now, this community should have been more afraid of the police than the gangsters and criminals in their communities. >> i have been harassed and targeted and railroaded by the antioch police department forere situation. the da named 17 police officers involved but says there could be up to 45, nearly half of the department. kumasi: thank you. happening today, one of the suspects in the deadly shooting at the pleasanton home depot is due in court. the man is accused of being the getaway driver. amanda del castillo joins us with details on the case. amanda: one

david guillory is expected to make that first court appearance in just a few hours. he is accused of being the getaway driver in that deadly shooting that happened at the pleasanton home depot. all of this as the family of the shooting victim continues to mourn. the second suspect, the woman accused of shooting and killing the victim is being charged with murder along with several enhancements in posssi of a firearm while a felon with priors. both suspects are being charged with child abuse as a toddler was inside the car. guillory is being charged with accessory after the fact and investigators say she was driven from the scene. there nissan pathfinder was tracked back to the suspect's home in oakland where deputies took them into custody. 10 minutes later, officer say they went back to check on the

investment to the bay area and she says one viral video like this can have a lasting impact. >> they are making a lot more money now, increasing in terms of income, personal wealth. they will send their children overseas for college or even starting with high school. if they do not feel safe sending their children to san francisco, for example, it is a loss of revenue for the universities here and also income that comes with, coming to visit and all that tourism. the investment i have seen always follows the children. the children come and study and they make an investment in the family follows. reggie: the video prompted the indonesian consulate to issue an alert complete with instructions on what to do if you are attacked, broken into or robbed. california's attorney general is urging the federal government to recall thousands of kia and hyundai vehicles due to theft.

the car companies were accused of knowingly selling vehicles without a common antitheft feature that requires the key to be present to start the vehicle and drive away. nearly 40% of vehicle stolen have been kia's and hyundai's since a tiktok video showed how easy it was to hotwire these vehicles. >> the way to steal them is known, it is all over social media. it is known to kia and hyundai. yet they have failed to act appropriately in response. reggie: kia and hyundai have offered a software fix but not for all of their cars. years worked to come tuned agreement to keep the a's in the city -- come to an agreement to keep the a's in the city. kumasi: oaklands mayor speaking very bluntly after oakland agreed -- after the a's agreed

to buy land in vegas. what does that mean for the future of the coliseum? developing it is something that has been mentioned numerous times, but there could be a major hurdle. >> all eyes are now on the oakland coliseum site and nearby properties as the oakland a's have signed a binding agreement to purchase land for a new stadium in las vegas, but. >> oakland is one of the greatest places in the world. we love it here. >> that from soul soccer club president lindsay behrens who is optimistic about the future of the area. the soccer teams announced thursday a proposal with the city and county to enter into a lease that would put a temporary soccer stadium with stands similar to the ones used in golf tournaments and f1 races at the malibu parking lot next to the coliseum site. >> it would be there for 10

years. it would be our home in oakland and we are super excited to have made it official with the proposal. we are hoping that will work out for us. >> the situation is complicated. currently the a's are buying the county's 50% stake of coliseum land. the city of oakland owns the other 50% and has entered intuitive element agreement with aaseg, a black-owned development team. the group wants equity to be the focus in property of -- property improvements going forward. here is the board of supervisors president. >> i would even hope that we can get the a's to sell their interest to the african-american sports and her team and group, so that group can control the entire site -- sports entertainment group so that group can control the entire site. >> what would be a multimillion dollar private investment in the area. behrens says they have sold out many of their soccer games with
