suspected in the stabbing of tech executive probably is scheduled to be arraigned. amanda del castillo is live in second cisco -- is live in san francisco. amanda: we are back at the hall of justice this morning after the suspect's original court date was pushed back because his attorney was out of town. at 9:00 this morning he is expected to answer to a charge of murder. the 38-year-old tech entrepreneur and emeryville resident is accused in the stabbing death of tech executive bob lee. earlier this monthly was in town on a work summit when he was stabbed and killed along main street near harrison in the early morning hours of april 4. the latest court documents reveal stunning details about the events that allegedly happened during the final hours of lee's life. a detail evidence and a timeline, including interviews from friends, elevator surveillance footage, and a text

sent to the victim on the morning of the stabbing. after lee and the suspect's the suspect's sister's place, she wrote, just want to make sure you are doing ok, because i know he may came down hard on you, and thank you for being such a classy man and handling it with class. the rest came nine after -- 90's after that attack. we spoke with the da and the suspect's attorney earlier this month. >> at this point in time we are looking at first-degree murder. this is a person who was in his vehicle with a kitchen knife. that is not something most of us carry around. >> there was no deliberation, no malice. if there is no malice, by definition it is not a murder. amanda: you kennedy, who spoke with those previously as well. she acknowledges the charges are serious, but emphasizes she does not agree with a murder charge.

the last time we were hearing hurt -- here in court sister was here, and we will be in court at 9:00 a.m. today following developments. reporting live outside the hall of justice, amanda del castillo, abc 7 news. reggie: the man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend and her 13-year-old daughter is scheduled to be arraigned. the shooting happened saturday night on birch street. according to the east bay times police identified the victims as rebecca jenkins and her daughter, desiree. jenkins' daughter was having a sleepover with a friend, who was also shot and survived. a family member posted this gofundme. they are raising money for domestic violence awareness and the three other daughters jenkins leaves behind. kumasi: developing news this morning. a 15-month-old is in the hospital after being shot while sitting in a car in oakland.

police say this shooting happened around 6:30 last night on 12th avenue and 15th street in little saigon neighborhood. firefighters say after the family was shot the family drove to a fire station looking for help. surveillance video from a business across the street shows the moments after that family arrived at that higher station. you can see them running up to that door and banging on it, trying to get help. oakland firefighters confirmed the toddler was shot in the stomach area, but police have not said what led up to those shots or released any information about the shooters. reggie: president biden is running for reelection in 2024. the announcement came early this morning in the form of a news release and video posted to youtube. the president touches on contentious recent events and issues, saying we are going to fight for american democracy. pres. biden: around the country extremists are lining up to take on bedrock freedoms, cutting social security you paid for

your entire life while cutting taxes for the wealthy. taking what health care decisions women can make banning books and telling people who they can love. all while making it more difficult for you to be able to vote. reggie: the president's announcement goes on to paint a hopeful picture of the future, asking voters to give him a chance to finish the work's administration has started. polling shows 70% of americans say he should not run for reelection, many pointing to his age. he is 80 years old. he would be 86 by the end of a second term. abc news also reports chavez rodriguez is being considered to run the campaign. she is a senior white house advisor and the granddaughter of the late labor leader cesar chavez. kumasi: california's lieutenant governor wants the state's top job. the first person to announce a candidacy and what is expected to be a huge deal to replace government newsom. his term ends in 2027.

ballpark. the team's owners announced the plans last week to buy 49 acres of land near the las vegas strip, not far from where the root -- from where the raiders built their new stadium. as part of the deal local workers and contractors will be used to build that facility. the team hopes to break ground next year and move in by 2027. kumasi: san francisco is losing another major retailer downtown. the anthropology stories going to be closing in a few weeks on may 13. this is after several other closures in that area. the dfw closed, their real and that has left empty spaces. there is no word on why anthropology closed. reggie: 15 million pounds. that is how much debris was hauled away. a massive cleanup effort has been there since the l last month.

reggie: jury selection begins today and the rape lawsuit against donald trump. e.g. in carol alleges trump raped her in the trump has denied the allegations. the trial is in a civil court in new york, meaning trump is not required to be in court or in danger of going to jail. kumasi: tucker carlsen and goloman are out of a job this morning at their respective networks. lemon said he was fired from cnn, and carlsen reportedly got the news 10 minutes before it was made public. ♪ >> this morning, a new from now former fox news host tucker carlsen, urging his fans to sign up for text alerts to find out what he is up to next after the network suddenly announced his exit. >> we have some news from within our fox family. fox news media and tucker carlsen have mutually agreed to part ways. >> fox providing no reason.

the los angeles times reports the decision came from rupert murdoch after months of internal turmoil. just last week fox settled a defamation lawsuit over false election claims for nearly $800 million. a case that implicated carlsen and brought embarrassing text messages to light, in which he called management and colleagues at fox pathetic. he former producer on his show also sued, claiming she was bullied and subjected to sexist and anti-semitic comments. the l.a. times reports carlsen's coverage of the january 6 attack was also concerning tomorrow -- to murdoch. >> they were peaceful. these were not insurrectionists, they were sightseers. >> at cnn anchor don lemon is ou lemon tweeting out that he is stunned, coming he was not told directly by management, cnn said lemon was offered an opportunity to meet with management and

instead released a statement on twitter. he had faced backlash about his comments about nikki haley's presidential run. >> nikki haley is not in her prime. >> what are you talking -- weight. >> lemon was suspended in february. he also denied accusations of workplace misogyny. back to fox, the company's stock fell, wiping out $500 million of market value. fox news is also facing a defamation lawsuit from another boating existing company. it is seeking $2.7 billion. kumasi: in the north bay heated arguments during a public meeting on a proposal to change a toll for people who drive on highway 37. the toll would apply to a 10 mile stretch of the highway from mare island in solano county, to sears point. officials say the highway has multiple challenges, including traffic congestion and flooding because of climate change.

the toll review would fund long-term solutions to those issues, but last night a lot of people had concerns. >> these tolls, it essentially a tax coming in and out of vallejo. to me, it is really a restriction on freedom of movement. kumasi: many commuters on this route live in vallejo. they travel to work in sonoma or marin counties. there's also a main route to write -- to wine country. officials say tough choices may have to be made. reggie: $690 million will be allocated to more than two dozen public transportation projects throughout the state. the bay area will benefit. money is part of the states initiative to switch from fossil fuels to cleaner methods of transportation. the projects are designed to help disadvantaged communities. san francisco's bay ferry is getting money to switch to electric fairies and double the ferry service.

eta is getting nearly 47 million dollars to connect light rail service. and the santa cruz county picked up funding to connected zero emission bus service to caltrans. kumasi: a new art exhibit has sprouted up along san francisco's central subway line. it is a 250 foot tree branch that's stretch as well and to the sky. -- that stretches well into the sky. it is the tallest freestanding sculpture in san francisco. it is the creation of proxy pain. it was funded by the cities art enrichment ordinance, which requires a small portion of construction projects be dedicated to commissioning public card. drew: ok. now, mark my words, if we have a thunderstorm, that is going to be the lightning rod. kumasi: you think so? drew: oh, yes. reggie: also a lightning rod for graffiti. drew: true.

reggie: president biden has announced his 2024 reelection campaign. the announcement coming as a video posted overnight. the message? he wants to finish the job. faith abubey is live in washington, d.c. this morning with that. faith? president de and he has acknowledged those questions, saying they are legitimate, but he says the only thing he can say about that right now is "watch me." exactly four years since he launched his 2020 presidential bid, president biden, doing it all over again. pres. biden: and i ran for president i said we were in a battle for the soul of america. and we still are. faith: the president announcing his reelection campaign this morning in the video message, asking voters to give him four more years to finish what he started. pres. biden: this is not a time

to be complacent. reelection. faith: abc news has learned that a senior white house advisor and granddaughter of american labor leaders cesar chavez is being seriously considered to run the reelection campaign. the president faces a tough battle on the campaign trail. republicans, ready to hammer him on his record. polling also shows that 70 percent of americans do not want president biden to run for the oval office again. in part due to his age. biden, already the oldest american president, would be 86 years old by the end of a second term. >> this raises lots of concerns, justifiable concerns about his ability to fulfill all of the obligations of his office. the front runner on the republican side is no spring chicken either. if it ends up being drunk, he will be 78. faith: donald trump gaining

gloria: at last checked the baby girl was in the hospital in critical condition. police have not made any arrests in the shooting and police have not given us a suspect description. in the surveillance video you can see the girls family jumping out of a car and running to the nearest fire station to get help. oakland a15on-oldoddlnside a red honda was struck by at least one bullet. around 6:15 monday night the car left with two bullet holes. ali and his the street from firehouse four when it happened. >> i just hear a lot of screaming outside, so we just went out. there was, like, three girls and one man. i was very sad, because i have a little sister, and, yeah. >> it was very painful because i have a sister. i don't want that to happen to her. gloria: oakland firefighters say

the toddler wasn't shot in the stea. shotspotter sensors showed that shots were fired in the area close to franklin park and franklin elementary school. police have not said what led to those of shots being fired, and officers are asking anybody with information to call the felony assault unit. that number is on our website, abc news.com -- abc7news.com, that is. we will let you know as soon as we get any new information. reggie? reggie: that is terrifying. thank you. new details about the shooting in san francisco's mood -- northeast neighborhood. it does not appear to be random. the shooting killed a 23-year-old man from solano county. this happened not far from the condor club. a tourist was recording on his cell phone the moment he heard gunfire. >> i heard gunshots, looked

outside. it was a black suv, and the guy had shot this guy on a scooter. and he was trying to drag him back into the suv. the body was limp, he couldn't do it, so he just left him. reggie: what a thing to see while you kumasi: are visiting the city. kumasi:as a tourist. reggie: four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and police have not arrested anyone. kumasi: california lawmakers and gun-control advocates have announced new state legislation to curb gun violence. those were announced in monterey park yesterday. that is where 11 people were killed in a mass shooting in january. one of the measures aims to strengthen the process of taking guns away from people who are prohibited from owning a firearm. another would keep state and local agencies from selling ammunition and body armor. if their proposal will increase translation services for non-english speakers, ticket

he was stabbed to death just four blocks from the many's sister's home. prosecutors say many's sister sent lee a text, wanted to make sure you are doing ok, because i know nema came way down hard on you, and thank you for being such a classy man and handling it with class. she and her husband attended the suspect's previous court date, but had nothing to say. the stabbing happened in the early wanting hours of april 4. no many's arrest at his home came just nine days later. his legal counsel spoke with us previously. she acknowledges the charges against her client are serious, but emphasizes she does not agree with a murder charge. >> there was no premeditation, deliberation, no malice. absolutely not. if there is no malice, then by definition there is no murder.

just like late last week we had a ridge that brought warmer weather, this week will feature some warmer air we have not seen since last year. 90's will make a return inland for the first time in 2023. this ridge will sit over here, bring us sunshine and that warming trend. we warm quickly this morning. a light layer as you step out the door. we are in the 50's and low 60's. by lunchtime, widespread 70's away from the coast. certainly a nice day if you want to step outside. as we head toward the afternoon our warmest cities getting into the 80's, from santa rosa to concord. we will go into the 60's and 70's later on today. the fog does return to the coast once that sun goes down, and we will see a foggy coastline heading into wednesday. but today it is warm. above average in a lot of spots. 82 in livermore. 76 in palo alto.

kumasi: a caltrans worker hit and killed last year will be remembered at a memorial ceremony today. event honoring the nearly 200 employees killed on the job statewide in the past century. and of the most recent deaths was a landscape maintenance worker hit and killed while standing outside of her vehicle. caltrans says the driver was under the influence and
