suspect pulls the victims bank card out of the atm and replacing it with a dummy card and then steps back too his own atm and walks away with the victim unaware anything happened. those suspects later withdrew thousand from that man's account. just one example of what the nypd calls a distraction scam that targets seniors. >> looks like the perpetrators are coming from out of the state and in most cases out of the country and traveling here with the specific intention of finding victims. >> authorities are warning of crting howeleasing this video emmers first watch their victim enter the atm account and then that simple distraction can create enough time to grab the card and walk off. >> the victim takes the card and

leaves and now with the victims debit card and pin number they can withdrawal thousands of dollars of cash from the account. >> thieves will often wait until a completed transaction when the machine spits out your card. they are encouraging all customers to stay aware of surroundings and in particular, protect your penn. >> if there's people behind you don't be afraid and even go outside and withdrawal money from the bank tellers. >> police say it is a good idea to make your bank card is actually yours. most importantly you have to protect your pin like it's the money itself. >> cup it. put your hand over it. stay aware. >> how one down plans to deal with little league parents.

arch villain, he's a little more complicated. still scary, i hope. dare i say you feel a little more sympathy for him. >> absolutely. >> one of the most iconic sidekicks, how was that? >> smooe is known as the best looking. [laughter] >> it was amazing. as jude mentioned, there is this version. they established back story to justify some of the characterizations we know, so for smooe and hook it explores a parental relationship. anyone that has a teenageer is treated the same way that captain look treats me. so like, essentially, captain look is the teen and i'm like the parent. >> that's interesting.

talk about the transformation of you into hook. two hours a day? >> someone said that to me. i was asleep so it could have been 20 minutes. i would usually fall asleep in the chair. [laughter] >> yeah. apparently two hours. >> and you slept through that? >> easily. >> that's a talent. >> we worked hard putting together the details of what he should look like. the silhouettes of the characters are so familiar. what was interesting is going back to the original book where there's no mention of the red coat that comes from original version. the hook has switched hands depending on which book you see. we went through that with a fine tooth comb and tried to find a look that made sense of him and yeah, by all accounts two hours. >> whether were the kids onset

we see that french bulldog named billy the kid. >> he is there. well this is my manager's dog and the first time i saw him i fell in love with him. he was a tiny puppy and we've been inseparable since and i thought i need to write a story about billy the kid making it big in nashville and it's about bullying and dreams and keeping on with your dreams. it is a sweet little book and like i said it's called billy the kid makes it big and we read it to him all the time. >> what do you want kids to take away from the book? >> well actually just to basically what i was talking about. i want to instill confidence in kids and let them know it's good to go after your dreams but it's really about accepting people as they are. other people are different than

you or other puppies in this case and keeping on with your dreams until you see them come true because they can if you work hard enough and bill proved that. he sure did. it is a fun little read and basically from four to 7 years old, but we think everybody enjoys it. i love reading it and all my grown-ups love the book too. >> i think everyone will enjoy it. you have inspired so many young readers out there. the story that went viral about a 6-year-old in tennessee so inspired she dressed up for her school's book character day as you. what does it mean to see tributes like that? >> well it makes you feel real good. that was a golden book that tells my life story. but i'm easy to imitate. you only need a big bunch of hair and over exaggerate everything. i try to in still not only in

just kids but people that don't have the confidence and i hope that they can find the confidence within ourselves to reach for their dreams and try to make dreams come true and build their confidence in every way they need to in oer have product l you y co-hosting the academy of country music awards with garth brooks and you two have never worked together. how's that going? >> well it's going great. i love garth. we've known each other for many years and we've been backstage on shows together. he's never hosting a show but this was a big deal for me to get to work with garth so we're looking so forward to that. hopefully we'll measure up and i think we will. >> a lot of people will be watching. it's also a big deal for your first single from your first rock album is coming up.

what can listeners expect? >> well on the show in general, we want to present all the great country artists and the things they've done to win the awards, whether it's song of the year or songwriter or whatever they do on those shows. usually they do all of that up-and-coming artists, as well. on this one we'll celebrate them but at the end of the show i'm going to get today but my album. the first single off my rock album. we have a lot of wonderful great celebrities and a lot of the older rock artists in addition to all these iconic songs. i wrote the one i'm going today but. it's called world on fire. liar, liar, the world's on fire. what you gonna do when it all burns down? it's kind of about the times and

how we can do better if we can heal the divide and get along better. it has a great message but it's good and solid like a rock anthem. >> we're looking forward to that. you have another book coming out called, behind the scenes and my life and rhinestones. what can fans expect from that? >> well people love to hear about your life in show business. i know i've been intrigued with other's lives but this one is really showing a lot of, kind of like a museum piece really. it shows a lot of my beautiful costumes throughout the years. even the ones that were not so beautiful when i first started and reay jt jrney costume. so i love the title, my niece, rebecca receiver helped to put that together. she's been with me since she was born and she's done a great job
