tribute. >> ♪ somewhere over the rainbow ♪ cornell: music and prayers to honor a young man who loves life. >> blake cared for people, he loved us, and i'm sure he cared for every person who is here today. cornell: hundreds filled fremont community church to remember blake mohs, who was killed earlier this month while trying to stop a theft at the pleasanton home depot store, while -- where he worked as a loss prevention employee. his coworkers wore orange aprons as a tribute. >> some saw him as a great prevent -- protection specialist. some saw him as a wonderful associate it i think all of us saw him as a friend. >> right now, his family is hurting. cornell: chili davis is talking about his boy scouts family. he lived the scouts model every day, be prepared. he did that as a friend and mentor. >> he just lit up a room, and the kid could eat food.

[laughter] the kid could eat food! not my spaghetti, he didn't. >> i truly believe that blake has left so much behind in a positive way. he will truly be missed. cornell: his family says he had big plans for the future. he was getting married this summer to his fiancee, casey, and was hoping for a career in law enforcement. >> it is our turn to carry on the torch that blake lit for us, his courage, his wisdom, his compassion. ♪ cornell: in fremont, cornell barnard, abc 7 news. dion: a massive manhunt is underway in texas for a man wanted for killing five people, including an eight-year-old child. abc 7 news reporter zohreen shah has details of what led up to the shooting that happened just outside of houston.

zohreen: a gunman opened fire in cleveland, texas, just outside houston. deputies were dispatched about a harassment cam plate, and multiple number one cause about an active shooter at the location. they found several victims ranging in age from eight to four your 40 years old. four were dead. the eight-year-old died at the hospital. investigators say they believe the suspect, identified as 46-year-old francisco intoxicated and began shooting in ar-15 on his porch when a neighbor asked him to be quiet and >> he said too bad, it is his property, and he will do whatever he pleases on his property. next thing they know, he is walking up the driveway with a gun in hand. zohreen: it appeared some of the

victims were trying to shield the children. police found two dead bodies were covered in body -- in blood. the serifs have suspect walking up to the house, which is how they identified oropeza. veronica lives in the neighborhood and says they are always guns being fired in the neighborhood, so she thought nothing at it. >> there are always shootings, in the neighborhood. zohreen: a judge arrest warrant and signed a $5 million bond. zohreen shah, abc news, los angeles. dion: one person is dead after a house fire. fire crews say they rescued a victim, but that person died a short time later. no word yet on that fire's cause. developing now, oakland public school teachers are getting ready for a possible walkout. negotiations are continuing, but teachers spent today making

picket signs for a potential site -- strike. >> we don't have to strike. we want to bargain in good faith. we do not really want to strike. >> our teachers are forced to go on strike because of the failure to bargain in good faith, but we are ready for a strong strike action. dion: union has demanded a 23% initial rays along with finding reparations for black students, more counselors, and social workers. they also want the district to use vacant property to house homeless students and their families. ss schools will be open to students on monday. well, the warriors are getting ready for a deciding game 7, as they seek to move onto the second round of the nba playoffs. fans were sure the team would get that done during last night was a game at the chase center, but the confident vibes came crashing down when the sacramento kings won by 19 points. >> the kings have always been a

very talented matchup for us, and they always have shot the lights out in our building. dion: enthusiasm still. despite the defeat, fans are still hopeful golden state will take the game tomorrow at sacramento's golden one center. winner takes all, game 7 against the kings right here on abc 7 happens at 12:30. it will be followed right after by "after the game." pg&e says it could take until monday afternoon for electricity to be fully restored to hundreds of customers in downtown san francisco. many have been in the dark since wednesday . mobile generators have been brought in to provide power for the gateway apartment complex, but residents, including some elderly, have to climb up and down the tower -- stairs to get up and down the tower, because the elevators are not working. the outage was caused by an underground transformer fire.

happening now, fears of flooding at yosemite national park are abating. officials dissipated a massive snow melt because of rising temperatures, and as a precaution, they closed much of the park. they said the forecasting flooding fell short. a full reopening is scheduled for monday, may 1, at 7:00 a.m. park officials do warn hikers that trails are expected to be wet and muddy and could be difficult to fire -- follow. rivers throughout the park are high and still dangerous. visitors are able to enjoy spring at big bacon redwood state park for the first time in years. visitors can expect to see redwood regrowth and spring bloom bringing new life into the forest. the parks partially opened last july after 97% of the parks were

was honored to be there. >> today was an gorgeous day. it is so pretty, from emeryville, as you take a look across the were so mild in so many areas, but it was cooler at the coast and at the beaches. san francisco currently 56. you notice the fog moved in this morning and made a comeback. oakland 62, san jose comfortable at 71, half moon bay only 52 degrees, and then as we show you an inland view of mount diablo, you will see why some temperatures really warmed up with all of the sunshine and blue skies, in fact, livermore in the low 80's right now, santa rosa really comfortable at 74, and upper 60's for novato, napa, fairfield 77 degrees. this time, looking from mount tam, looking south, this is the fog moving in that is really changing things at the beaches. in fact, you will notice tomorrow, it is going to be much windier and cooler, and

temperatures will fall below average next week. you will see fog over the next couple of mornings, and as the system moves in that is bringing us the changes, it is also going to bring us a chance of showers next week, especially after all the 80 degrees temperatures, kind of shopping -- shocking here is a look at live doppler 7 , this area of low pressure is going to start sliding south. tomorrow we see increasing wind, cooler temperatures, cool temperatures monday and tuesday, even that chance of rain. wind gusts tonight will be ranging anywhere from 10, 20, even 30 miles per hour, but then you notice tomorrow afternoon, the winds really pick up. because of the winds coming from the northwest, this cooler air is going to drive temperatures down for everybody, so the 80's are going to be out of the picture for inland areas. also, what we will notice as we see increasing clouds on monday, the winds tomorrow, increasing

celebrated the 30th annual cesar chavez parade in the mission district. the parade was filled with music, cultural performers, and even a low writer chopard the celebration continues -- celebrates the life and work -- even low riders. the celebration syllabus the life and work of cesar chavez. today's parade was followed by festival with food, arts and crafts, and boy, you really made the weather nice for this.
