>> it has been a long 72 hours or so for some san francisco residents. they lost power and are dealing with all kinds of inconveniences as they wait for pg&e to fix the problem. good evening and thank you for joining us. you are watching abc 7 news at 11:00. frustrations still running high tonight for some san francisco residents waiting days for pg&e to get their power back on. a wildfire knocked out electricity wednesday night, and in one complex, they are still relying on a generator. >> flames flying up from underground wednesday, and saturday, frustrations still running high.

flights of stairs, and that got old. the other thing is, of course, you lost all your food in your refrigerators. >> pg&e first saying it would have power restored just after midnight wednesday, but one update after the next pushing the date back. >> you got that emailed today saying now monday. what was your thought? >> i could not believe it. i regret not leaving the city when i thought about doing right a. i could have made plans and avoided all of this. >> in an email saturday evening, a pg&e spokesperson said crews have completed repairs and restored power to customers impacted by wednesday's equipment damage but are now investigating a new outage at the gateway location, leaving these generators to keep pumping out the power. dion: one person is dead house fire in san francisco this morning. it happened at a home on e street in an ingleside

neighborhood. fire crews saved and rescued a victim, but that person died a short time later. there's no word yet on the fire's cause. federal regulators are seize and themselves bail out first republic bank. the fbi see has explored two options, one, to take control of the bank and quickly sell it off. the second, take full ownership of it. last month, the fdic took control of silicon valley and signature banks, both of which were failing. first republic customers concerned about their bank's health have withdrawn more than $100 billion in deposits. yosemite valley will be at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow after flooding fears from the big melt did not live up to forecast. the national park service closed the valley floor through wednesday because of those concerns. conditions are ok, so the park service is reopening the valley with limited services starting

tomorrow morning. a full reopening is scheduled for monday morning. people came together today in the east bay to say goodbye to blake bowes, who was shot and killed while trying to stop an alleged shoplifter at home depot in pleasanton. it was a day of moving tribu >> ♪ somewhere over the rainbow ♪ >> music and prayers to honor a young man who loved life. >> blake really cared for people. he cared for us, and i'm sure he cared for every single person here today. >> remembering blake who was shot and killed earlier this month while trying to stop a theft at the pleasanton home depot store where he worked as a loss prevention employee. his coworkers wore their orange aprons as a tribute to blake. >> some saw him as a trainer. some saw him as a great asset protection specialist.

supporters spent the day making signs in anticipation of a possible strike. those who have another bargaining table representing teachers tell abc 7 there has been very little progress. >> "ready to strike" tell much of the story. >> we are willing to strike for our students if we have to. we need the district to continue to come with proposals. that has been our biggest frustration. >> the interim president of the teachers union says negotiations have been all -- have been nonstop all saturday. >> we have not seen a completed salary proposal, a completed special education proposal, and so we are still -- we are having conversations, but we are still waiting for the district to provide concrete proposals so that we can get to the finish line. >> oakland teachersavin working without a contract since

october. the teachers union has 21 proposals on the table. issues ranging from class-size to school safety to teacher salary. the union wants a 23% pay raise. the district is offering 22%, but the union says that 22% requires that teachers work an extra two hours a week and would only be given to certified teachers, not for all positions like school nurses or psychologists. the union says that means their membership would not be eligible for a salary increase. >> to us, that is a divide and conquer strategy that we are absolutely not willing to accept. >> teachers say it is never a good time to strike, but it is important the community understand any teacher strike is also about the needs of students. >> the learning loss will continue into next year if we do not have a fair contract if such a high percentage of teachers keep leaving our district, if we don't get the facilities repaired and be support services that our students need.

also i want to show you the forecast animation. it will bring us a mix of high clouds tomorrow in the afternoon, so we will get some sunshine, partly cloudy conditions, and monday is when we start to see more of the clouds thickened up. notice late monday into early tuesday, we got some light rain showers wrapping around the bay area into tuesday night, possibly lingering into wednesday. in fact, it is a little unsettled for the rest of the week. overnight lows will be near 50 degrees around the bay, some upper 40's at the beaches and mid-40's in ports of the north bay like santa rosa, 46. it will be cloudy and cool overnight, and tomorrow with those partly conditions, temperatures will still be cooler because of that onshore low and strong wind. only 59 in san francisco, 63 in oakland, 65 in san jose, and gone are the 80's. our warmest spots will be the low 70's.
