says show you nearly 16% weight loss over a nearly 17 month period among people who have type 2 diabetes and obesity. >> how significant is that, can you put it into perspective? >> it's incredibly significant. in other medications weight loss was 3-8% maybe for patients but the percentage number is 15.7% on the highest dose in a phase three trial for diabetes has just not been shown before. >> the company released the data as part of its weight loss approval request to the fda, potentially opening the door for patients to have the drug covered by insurance. mounjaro is currently only approved to treat type 2 diabetes with a pharmaceutical company says the fda could decide whether to approve the active ingredient in mounjaro for weight loss as early as late 2023. >> hey, beautiful people. >> she got lucky when eli lilly offered a temporary coupon for mounjaro, currently paying only $125 per month, but it expires at the end of june.

whether she can get insurance to cover the drug may depend on whether the fda approves it for weight loss. >> i'm hoping that it will get approved so that for the next year i won't have to worry about it and my insurance will cover it, but it's very expensive out-of-pocket, it's around 900-$1400 a month and i don't know about you guys, but i don't -- it's a lot of money. and your health is worth it, but it's just -- it's the fact that these things that should prevent other health issues from happening should be affordable for people to have what they need. >> while ozempic and mounjaro can be really effective for folks who are obese, doctors generally don't recommend using them just to shed a few pounds. the long-term side effects aren't really clear yet. the ozempic ads mention a few risks. >> serious but dormant side effect may include tinker titus, gallbladder problems may occur. >> doctors see these medications as a potential game changer. >> what you think these drugs

area. sometimes they are going to need a face-lift where i can go in, lift the face, excise extra skin and then inject fat in the deeper layers, called the lift and fill face-lift. >> he's also seeing patients with so-called ozempic body buried >> it is a real phenomenon. patients are losing weight very quickly in their losing volume in their breasts, abdomen. what that leads to his loose skin and that's a hard thing to fix unless we surgically excise that loose skin, whether that's through a tummy tuck, whether that's through lift with an implant. >> kaitlin has had her share of loose skin but she says it's a small price to play. >> bear with me as i am just trying to share my journey on how i can be better. i will be posting updates as well in the next couple hours on my first day. >> hey, guys! so good to see you! a little try on with you guys.

to collect stories from her celebrity friends and colleagues to share how teachers taught them life lessons. of course she started with her own story. >> it's morning in. georgia, my hometown two hours south of atlanta and as the sun rises over my old school, you see it, the buses heading to perry high. and so on mine. >> this will be fun. >> to reconnect here with somebody who changed my life forever and the memories come reason back. >> i would spend a lot of time i hear of course talking to my friends at my locker and then head over to the library, which is a place that i just love. >> our former school librarian mrs. kathy tallon had an enormous lifelong impact on me. >> cafe just made everybody feel so welcome. >> and on this day years after she first encouraged young deborah to think big and ask questions about the world, i've gone back to thank her. kathy is in here.

>> you encouraged me to think big and get out there and not to be afraid. >> yeah. it's good. >> thank you. >> you're welcome! >> that was so great to be able to thank her in person! >> she said to me you are organized and you are smart and ambitious and i said i was? i thought i was a mess in high school and she said no, i saw something. >> it is so clear she saw you. why do you think the stories are so emotional for everybody? >> summoning people even cry when they told me about the stories because they hadn't thought about in a long time. oprah talked about how she was seen and she was valued and it wasn't about lessons that they taught you and academics, it was about they saw something sometimes in a kid, sometimes for good and for bad and they would sort of pull you back or inspire and it was all about seeing you -- seeing something you may not see in yourself. >> there are a lot of boldfaced names in this book, bobby brown, trista turlington, george and robin and michael strahan and brooke shields even, but is there a consistent theme among

the stories that you heard? >> there is, and i think they g from the teacher, something that the teacher saw or imparted to them. it wasn't about a lessons. they can barely remember the math problems that they solved but that teacher who made them feel special and made them feel smart. >> and that is something that stays with you forever and sets you on a course. he also tried to hurry up this project because in the midst of this teacher crisis you felt like it was critical to get this out. >> absolutely. when i was talking to the publisher they were like maybe 2024 and i said no, i have worked for 2020 and "nightline" and "good morning america," i can do this, i will crash this. the story has to come out now because teachers need this now. they need to be reminded that they matter and that they are cherished and i think we are losing that right now. >> teachers are burned out, they've gone through the pandemic, there are so many crises right now and also the politics that they've become part of the crosshairs of all that. >> more dissatisfaction right now among teachers than in 50

years. fewer people wanting to aspire to the profession in 50 years so they need to be reminded that we see them and value what they do and we also need to help them. >> so how do we help them? you are giving proceeds to this book. >> i'm giving some of the proceeds, the donors choose and that's an organization that provides resources for public schools but we need to thank teachers, we need to say to them we appreciate what you do and i think we also need to have a voice and give them a voice and help them know that we want to see them be able to return to this idea of contributing and doing something and being autonomous. >> you set out in history we've been at this point before and we overcame. >> that's right, because we think about this is just this moment of crisis but in the '70s teachers were experiencing a lot of discontentment and we paid big attention, there was a government study and people -- teachers were paid better and it's not about the pay. we know teachers don't do it for the pay but when we focus on them and pay attention and show them we want to help solve the
