that's at the root of these mass shootings. sources confirmed overnight that the gunman's mental health is one part of the investigation into saturday's rampage. this morning. authorities are looking into whether the gunman accused of killing eight people, including a five year old at a mall north of dallas, expressed an interest in white supremacist ideology. investigators say during the rampage, he wore a patch with a white supremacist insignia. the video shows the gunman jumping out of a car saturday, then opening fire on people at the sprawling outdoor shopping center. he turned the gun and began shooting in the other direction where there were a lot of people, police say an officer in the area on a different call . heard gunshots that officer shooting and killing the gunman. minutes later, witnesses describe a horrific scene, saying first responders were sickened by the carnage. these first responders act, you know? visibly shaken and crying and sick and trying to catch their breath and trying to understand what was going on that blow
