we wish all who celebrate a happy mother's day. the search for a hit-and-run death of a good samaritan. the woman was killed after stopping to help another driver involved in a single car crash. it happened after 2:30 in the morning on the off ramp leading to highway 262. chp said she was in a car that pulled over to help move the crashed vehicle to safety on the side of the road. investigators say she was standing between the two cars when a man driving a ford pickup plowed into the back of her car. it was pushed into her and she was killed. police say the driver of the truck ran away and is still at large. the driver was originally trying to help. she was -- the driver she was trying to help was arrested for driving under the influence. a crash happened saturday night on the northbound lanes near the

telly rode off ramp. the highway patrol tells the mercury news officers found the adult male victim dead in the slow lane. they say the semi did not stop at the scene taking this a hit-and-run. as for the why the man was on the freeway that is still under investigation. it looks like oakland teachers will remain off the job tomorrow e somprogress in negotiations this weekend. the oakland district reached agreements on four so-called common good proposals. those proposals shared governance and committee schools. negotiations are continuing but there is no deal yet. if teachers are on the picket line tomorrow it would be the eighth school day of the strict to the strike began on may 4. there are a total of nine school days left and the first graduation is scheduled for may 22. the le last day of school is may

25. in the east bay a special mother's day celebration for moms formerly incarcerated. in oakland and nonprofit organization is raising funds to provide bill support and legal assistance to the mothers allowing them to be reunited with their families. >> i wanted to give all you mothers your flowers while you are here. >> a spe celebration in downtown oakland honoring moms with a brunch and a taste of freedom from incarceration. >> what we do is bail people out and we host an event to uplift them and connect them with community services. >> she is the founder of the organization that works to identify moms who are low-level offenders in need of dell support. >> i am grateful. it is such a blessing. >> kalina williams was reunited with her small kids thanks to the program which relies on donations.

>> some campgrounds in yosemite national park are slated to close because of flooding concerns. lower and northpoint campgrounds along with housekeeping camp will all be off limits. the parks service says more closures are possible but it will give a more accurate update tomorrow morning. parts of the park closed briefly a couple to go due to a flooding concerns along the merced river. would think now that things are drying out but i guess there are residuals.
