boards has information about ticket and tuition refunds will come out at a later date. gloria: the university of california board of regents has voted to establish a new college at uc berkeley for the first time in 50 years. the college of computing, data science, and society will open for the 2025-20 26 school year. data science and computer science are among the most popular majors at berkeley. this comes as the demand for people with the skills to organize and analyze data has increased in recent years. the uc regents have also approved a plan to form a working group to explore the potential path to enable the university system to hire undocumented students. the change could impact thousands of students, and also challenge a law signed by president reagan in 1986 at band employers from hiring lacked legal authorization.

gloria: mayor mahan said some keys to turning around san jose's population trend include properly staffing the city's police department, ending the housing crisis, and making the city feel safe and clean. the east bay a popeyes restaurant has been forced to close after accusations of unsafe working conditions and child labor law violations. the restaurant is at 70 f and international boulevard in oakland. 21yearld elo filed labor and safetyke sayom cntai e cu assaulted an employee. in a statement popeyes sdai immediately closed the restaurant and has launched an investigation. workers want the state to investigate the claims of unsafe work conditions and possible child labor violations. jobina: to the north there is an unfolding mystery at the bottom of a popular lake in santa rosa.

jobina: this morning there appears to be progress on a deal to raise the debt limit and avoid an economic crisis. justin finch has more. justin: president biden, keeping tabs on debt ceiling talks all the way from the g7 summit in japan. pres. biden: i'm confident we will get the agreement on the budget and that america will not default. justin: the white house going on to say, president biden directed his team to continue pressing for a bipartisan agreement. and he remains confident congress will take necessary action to avoid default.

condemned terrorism. jobina: abc 7's parent company, disney, has announced that is canceling plans for a one billion dollars investment in the orlando area. in a statement company said it was changing due to "changing business conditions." this comes during a public feud with florida governor ron desantis over the state's don't say gay law. the santos' office responded, saying they were unsure if it would come to fruition anyway. his knee is the single largest employer in florida and one of the largest taxpayers in that state. the project would have created at least 2000 jobs. gloria: disney has also announced the star wars galactic star cruiser hotel is heading for its final voyage. the hotel has only been open for 18 months. disney said even though the idea did not live up to expectations, the company is still focused on creating immersive experiences
