ing solutions. this is abc7news. ama: police kill a man following a standoff that a neighborhood market. new details about what happened in the moments leading up to the deadly confrontation. investigators are piecing together what happened. the standoff started at a market on bosworth street after due :00 after san francisco police responded to reports of a man with a gun entering a home. ama: it ended with the suspect being shot and killed by an officer. ryan curry was at the scene and has more. near san francisco's glen park neighborhood friday ended with san francisco police shooting and killing a man.

the man was armed with a gun when he entered the store on the corner of bosworth street. a person inside the store called 911. >> we were trying to negotiate during this incident. we wanted a peaceful resolution. the amount of information at this time is preliminary. reporter: employees reported the man lived above the store. police said the man was carrying cocaine before reaching for his gun. that's when officers opened fire. a lot of the attention is focused on that street corner where most of the officers and investigators remain. multiple agencies are on scene including the san francisco district attorney's office. >> every few minutes, they were asking him to come outside with his hands up and he didn't. reporter: michaela heard almost the entire confrontation including the moment gunfire erupted. >> very fast, rapid succession.

that was it. sinking feeling in my knowing what's going down. reporter: she has lived in this neighborhood for several years. lately, she's been growing concerned. >> it's been insane how much is going on. my parents had their catalytic converter stolen twice. within a matter of months. people are always coming down the street around the corner, constantly trying to break into cars, having car stolen. reporter: sfpd is not releasing the name of the man. this is the departments first shooting by an officer this year. they will hold a meeting with residents in the next 10 days. >> in the spirit of accountability and transparency, the san francisco police department will be hosting a town hall meeting to disclose as much information as we can from this incident. reporter: ryan curry, abc7news. dan: new details. walgreens has cut ties with a security firm after their guard

shot and killed banquo brown last month. brown was killed very -- during a physical dispute over shoplifting. the ceo of kingdom group protective services received a call about the decision last week. walgreens, which hired the firm, did not comment. the district attorney is not filing criminal charges against the guard. ama: a reminder that fire season is coming. cal fire crews made quick work of a wildfire in oakville tonight, not far from the commonly monastery in napa county. they are staying on the scene to mop up hotspots. we haven't heard of any damage. napa county held an emergency preparedness fair this evening in st. helena. it had all sorts of resources to get ready for a disaster. dan: looking ahead to the weekend, it doesn't look like we have anything that we would associate with fire weather. ama: let's get a first look at the forecast with sandhya patel.

it will look a little bit different and feel a little different from saturday. i will be back with the forecast, coming up. dan: yosemite national park officials are bracing for more flooding as snow continues to melt. the merced river rose to the bottom of the parks swinging bridge yesterday. the water was 10 feet. there was a high possibility that roads will flood again and have to be closed. the river is expected to reach flood stage at 12.5 feet by early monday. ama: caltrans will close a portion of highway 37 for smart train track repairs. it will be closed while crews work on a railroad crossing that's on the highway. repairs will start early tomorrow morning and last through midday sunday. caltrans says those traveling that way this weekend should prepare to take a detour which will add more driving time. some sonoma county residents aren't looking forward to the traffic.

>> it's already a mess as it is. highway 12 will become nightmare. ama: about 47,000 cars travel highway 37 each day. dan: bay area congress number ro khanna is doubling down on his calls for senator dianne feinstein to step down. her health has been a major focus on capital hill recently and even more so after she appeared confused when speaking with a reporter this week. , is among the democrats urging her to step down so that matters on the senate judiciary committee such as judge vacancies can be addressed while the party is in power. tonight in an interview with cnn, he said that feinstein's refusal to step away from the job has created a sad situation. >> in washington, making a gaffe is saying the obvious truth out loud. that's the only thing i've done. it's painful to watch. i wish people who are close to her who have been friends of hers and her family will talk to
