hayward today. they are trying to hire 200 additional bus operators. no bus driving experience is required and ac transit provides pay training. almost 200 applicants showed up for today's event. job offers were made to more than 130 people, pending proof of a clear driving record and other background checks. new bus operators are eligible for a $2000 sign-on bonus. also in the east bay, some of the most skilled utility workers around. they are putting their abilities to the test to show who's the best. dozens of teams took part in what is known as the wind -- lineman's rodeo in livermore. competitors from utility agencies all over the state and beyond took part in today'sevenl climbing, companion rescue, and other skills. the top finishers from pg&e will go on to compete at the international lineman's rodeo in october in kansas. in honor of national streaming day, hulu is offering viewers

san francisco will start toshut down ahead of tomorrow's bay to breakers race. participants showed up at embarcadero plaza today to pick up their packets. the decade-long tradition features competitive and recreational runners. some, actually, a lot, will be wearing full costume. others may only wear birthday suits, if you catch my drift. officials say anybody not running, we can expect delays throughout the city. keep in mind, the race starts sunday at 8:00 a.m. at main and howard street's and goes through iconic neighborhoods and ends at the great highway. bart will run special service tomorrow morning ahead of the race. there are folks who just watch the people run because it is so entertaining. spencer: i think after a certain number of birthdays, people should stop wearing birthday suits.
