likely be using interstate 80 to get there and get ready for gridlock on tuesday. ama: aaa says it will be 77% of normal that morning. gas prices have edged up slightly in san francisco and oakland while they dipped in san jose. if you are looking to fill up in the south bay, it has the least expensive gas at 4.78 per gallon. the other big question, when do you leave? take a look here. aaa says you will want to leave before noon tomorrow. the earlier the better. saturday and sunday won't be bad but traffic will pick again it -- pick up again on noon monday. dan: let's bring in sandhya patel for that 24 hour accuweather forecast. ama: any trouble spots out there tomorrow? sandhya: the worst of it will be along the coastline. what they need to worry about this. overcast skies. the fog with low visibility will be an issue tomorrow morning

inclusive and diverse community. i 100% support the rights of all. ama: major u.s. retailers are running into pushback for pro lgbtq commercials or merchandise. target stock has lost more than $9 billion in market value in less than a week after pulling some pride closing from its shelves. tim johns is looking at how brands are increasingly finding themselves in the middle of the nation's culture wars. reporter: bud light, target, the north face. just days to go until the start of pride month. more companies are finding themselves in the midst of controversy. target announcing it was removing several items from its private collection following intense backlash and violent confrontations from customers. >> 71% of americans from across the political spectrum believe that lgbtq+ people should be protected from discrimination. reporter: the quality california. he says at a time when lgbtq people are under increasing

attack, showing support for the community is more important than ever. >> there are more than 500 anti-lgbtq+ bills that have been introduced in state legislatures across the country. reporter: target didn't specify what items it removed from source. bathing suits for transgender people came under attack online. some on social media said those items were made for children. a claim that's untrue. target said the bathing suits in question were only sold in adult sizes. >> we are in that extreme moment . each community that has a particular side gets in mashed in fake news. reporter: dr. lonnie brooks is a professor at cal state each bay to study social media trends. he says companies will continue to support the lgbtq community but they will also have to prepare for more pushback from segments of the population. >> creating those plans and anticipating this backlash,

castro took her but he died in a police shootout the day after she disappeared. her case is still open. a memorial service took place for banko brown. the 24-year-old shot and killed last month at a san francisco walgreens. tempers flared during a speech by reverend amos brown. things got in a big shouting match. banko brown's stepmother urged people to calm down. after several minutes, order was restored. brown was suspected of shoplifting and was killed by a secure guard who feared he was about to get stabbed during the confrontation. john burris plans on filing a lawsuit tomorrow. >> we are in a position to show that walgreens security company and the security office were at fault. dan: the state is reviewing the case after rick jenkins decided not to file charges.

ama: you are looking live the u.s. capitol tonight where it seems progress is slow in reaching a deal on the u.s. debt ceiling. lawmakers went on recess for the memorial day weekend. with just seven days left before the nation defaults on its debt, if congress doesn't act, social security payments would halt and millions of jobs will be at risk. president biden says he's made it clear. defaulting on the debt isn't an option. jackie speier joined us earlier today to give her take on what we might see next. >> i think what's going to happen, because we are so close to the deadline, is that they will pass a modest lifting of the debt ceiling for a month. so that they can continue to negotiate. ama: one top gop negotiator tells abc news he doesn't expect any updates to come tonight. dan: two bills addressing california's fentanyl crisis are advancing through the state legislature.

the assembly voted in favor of legislation to require health insurance carriers to cover the purchase of narcan over-the-counter. that's the nasal spray that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. the assembly passed a bill requiring arcana public schools across the state. both bills now head to the state senate. ama: our goal pushes us to focus on our local climate and environment. governor newsom is showing off california's ambitious plans to transition to clean energy. the governor was at a facility in richmond today. the company will be producing mobile batteries that generate clean energy instead of gas generators. california's goal is to have a 100 percent clean electrical grid by 2045. >> we want to mark that the goal said in that we've done, we are moving away from aspiration to application. it's a practical reality. our hardheaded pragmatism we are pushing here. the most important thing is to

reinforce that we can't get it done in less -- unless we go big and bold. ama: the governor met with five of the original rosie the riveters who worked during world war ii. that factor is now home to this business including 101-year-old betty rhys hoskins. dan: tesla will now open it super charging stations to forte electric vehicles. a newly announced partnership. forte electric vehicle owners will get access to more than 12,000 of teslas high-powered chargers in the hope of speeding up the american moved to electric cars. they will become available through the forte app earlier next year. ama: a pathogen wiping out california's cannabis. the problem in the billions and there's a bay area solution. dan: dingdong ditched by a horse? the story behind this runaway neighbor. plus. >> they are the gateway to us. we are like a bridge.

mr. jackson was a victim of an unprovoked ambush, not a perpetrator. all the facts supported jackson shooting a gun in self-defense. he is still being held on felony gun charges. he fired his gun away from the direction of the wu family vehicle. a stray bullet struck and killed jasper in his car seat. the judge ruled there's enough evidence to tie the other two suspects to the death of jasper wu. both men should be tried on murder and gang charges. the attorney for jasper wu's parents say they are pleased that those two will stand trial. ama: a startup in oakland is helping cannabis farms test for an infectious pathogen. it's estimated that it has infected nearly every cannabis farm in the state. it shrivels plants, reducing how much they can produce. it could cost billions of dollars to the national wheat

economy. oaklands purple city labs has a new test that could be conducted on-site with results in a few hours. they hope it could help this -- slow the spread of the pathogen and they are now selling the test worldwide. dan: we want to take time to highlight mental health awareness month and honor the story of one san jose veteran and his service dog. they are featured in a new documentary called by my side. the film highlights the impact of ptsd on our veterans. lauren martinez has the story. >> september 5, 2008. reporter: emilio still has the piece of hummer he was driving when he nearly lost his life from an improvised explosive device while serving as a marine and -- interact. >> my right fibula broke. reporter: he described his medical care as an -- impersonal. >> i didn't feel like i was getting care. these are my brothers. i would die for you but you

with its owner thanks to one police officer in burbank. ama: the officer had to go on a ride to corral it. police got the call about a horse running down a residential street early yesterday morning. dan: one officer spotted oreo wandering near a home. you see the officer riding the horse back to its owner. ama: police say oreo first took off after getting spooked during a ride with her owner. dan: quick thinking. we watched for years and now a new class of bay area hall of famer is being honored. larry: the bay area spor of fame with a class for the ages. five stars inducted tonight. buster posey and patrick willis among them.
