this morning we have dense fog in parts of the north bay. as you move inland, we have clear skies. the marine layer is then this morning. we saw sunshine yesterday and we have a similar set up as we head into later today. taking a look at the visibility. it is friday it does not want to play today. temperatures in the 50's and the warm spots in the 80's. we have the full forecast coming up in a few minutes. jobina: we have from the light rail service with the lou andy green line service being replaced -- with the blue and green line replaced monday. a heads up there. the roadway looking good. westbound 80, and the traveling westbound 80 tour the

peninsula. all looks good. no blockages so far this morning. kumasi: police and the south say that one person is behind a string of deadly crimes. here is a map of where everything happened. the police say there were five distinct crime scenes. three people are dead and three other people are hurt. we are live with the details this morning. >> when we talk about just how expansive and extreme the crime scene was -- the crime spree should say, at last check three people stabbed, one person fatally, two other with life threatening injuries, three others hit by car. two people killed, one person said to be ok. this happened yesterday afternoon across five different crime scenes across twos cities, san jose and milpitas.

it happened around 3:00 yesterday afternoon in san jose off of cusa road. one person with life-threatening injuries area they believe the suspect went to a shopping center and attempted to carjack a second vehicle stabbing another person whose injuries were life-threatening. in an attempt to get away he hit a person in the parking lot. that victim is said to be ok. the suspect was spotted at the intersection of santa clara and 16 street later. >> the suspect appears to intentionally ramped striking to pedestrians causing life-threatening injuries. both of those dess trends have succumbed to the injuries -- both of those pedestrians have succumbed to those injuries. >> the police were called to a deadly stabbing on jaclyn road. in the end, the police took the

suspect into custody in a fifth location. the only information the department releases that the suspect is an adult male who they believe is tied to all incidents. at this point we've not been updated about the motive, but the police will give an update later today. we are reporting live outside of police headquarters. amanda, abc 7 news. reggie: new development in the debt ceiling. it could've been the nation's first-ever default. but the bill is headed to the president's desk. kumasi: when it comes to the reaction it is a mixed bag. the final tally was 63-36. it needed 60 votes to pass. chuck schumer is hailing democrats for pushing the package through congress. and they will consider national security and defense spending increases including aid for ukraine.

those who oppose the bill say it will negatively impact climate change, used the garrity, and student loan debt. but they voted to save -- raise the debt ceiling to avoid a default. >> people who negotiated this i wouldn't -- >> this will cut programs for some of the most vulnerable people in america. kumasi: this pulls back billions of dollars in covid and irs funding and preserves programs including social security and veterans benefits. president joe biden will sign the bill as soon as possible. he will address the nation tonight. reggie: cities and counties across the bay area and the state kicked off pride month the rays of the progress pride flag. officials of redwood city an oakland city hall and california department of education. kumasi: and at campbell.

kumasi: affordable housing development is in works in san jose. they broke ground yesterday. five stories, on altamont avenue in the east i'd of the city. it will be 100% affordable housing. >> over 5100 affordable hou units, over 2200 of them were set aside in supportive housing. when all of the developments are in operation, we will have new arm and housing for approximately 14,800 people. kumasi: half of the units will be for people transitioning out of homelessness. reggie: cannabis café could be coming to california. the bill just passed the state assembly. it will allow shops to split from being dispensaries but they would serve food, drinks, and host live music. currently shops can only sell cannabis products. they introduce the bill and if

say one person is behind a string of violent deadly crimes last night. we had sky 7 flying overhead as it was playing out stretching across five different scenes. at target parking lot, shopping centers, city streets, san jose and the police say re-people died. three others were hurt. abc 7 news were order amanda is live with more this morning. amanda: certainly a couple of frightening hours happening yesterday afternoon into the late evening. across five different scenes. it was into cities, milpitas and san jose. the information we have on the suspect arrested is that he was an adult male. no information about a motive. police say it was around 3:00 this after -- yesterday

afternoon with the carjacking and stabbing also of cruiser road. police say the suspect went to a shopping center off of heels dell and stabbed another person while trying to carjack another vehicle. in his attempt to get away, he hit the person in a center parking lot and the person is said to be ok. and then the suspect was spotted near 16th street. a short time later police say he intentionally ramped to people killing them. 90 minutes after the rampage started, around 4:30 milpitas police were called to a deadly stabbing on jaclyn road. in the end of the police took the suspect into custody at a separate location. >> it is shocking we don't have this type of activity around here at all. >> we feel comfortable there is no ongoing threat to the public. everybody here in the city should feel safe knowing done our job as officers.

amanda: in a statement, san jose mayor said there are no words that convey how sorry i am to the victims loved ones whose lives have been forever altered. in total at last checked, three people were stabbed, one person fatally, three with life-threatening injuries. one person -- two people kil and one person said to be ok. we expect an update from the police today. abc 7 news. kumasi: in san francisco the arraignment for the man accused of stabbing a china town bakery employee has been delayed so the attorney can investigate the case. this is a video of 61-year-old who like -- the facing these charges. he was released on parole 10 days before this attack. his public defender says he has mental health issues.

reggie: the air force hurricane hunters are tracking a hurricane -- tropical storm. kumasi: the off of florida west coast. some are still recovering from hurricane end last september area -- hurricane ian
