in nearby orange beach, alabama . but we begin right now in texas. a total devastation this morning. parts of perryton, texas, lay in ruin after a massive tornado slammed the texas panhandle. northeast. now, perryton tearing through homes and knocking out power to the entire town. another one to the left of it. we've got one trailer on fire. we've got more multiple trailers destroyed. dozens of people rushed to the local hospital, which was running on generators. a mobile home park took a direct hit. dozens of trailers were damaged or destroyed. drone video shows residents combing through the debris after winds predicted up to 90mph. and golf ball sized hail tore through the area. thursday's heat contributing to the storm, destabilizing the atmosphere. more than 30 million people from texas to louisiana and florida were under heat advisories. many expected to remain in effect through tonight with a heat index up to 120 degrees possible in some areas.

the heat, a major test for the texas power grid with record electricity demand expected. those in charge insist there is enough supply to meet demand. severe storms also in the north wreaking havoc in ohio. this video shows an intersection outside toledo. powerful winds ripping the roof off this building and massive hail reported on the north side of the state, smashing windshields . hail also causing damage in arkansas. the grapefruit sized ice smashing this home. the real skylights. one witness saying the hail sounded like bombs going off. back in texas, multiple agencies are on the scene of the tornado damage with more resources on the way, we'll check today's forecast in just a few minutes. a developing story now in canada, at least 15 people have died after a semi truck and bus collided west of winnipeg. most of the victims were seniors on a trip to a casino. investigators are looking into the cause of the crash. both drivers survived and back in this country. new details this morning about the

classified information that a 21 year old air national guardsman allegedly shared online while working at a military base in massachusetts. the details are coming to light now that jack teixeira has been indicted and abc's justin finch is here now with more. justin, good morning . rihanna and good morning. the indictment claims jack teixeira potentially jeopardized the supply of military aid to ukraine by leaking the kind of hardware the us was preparing to deliver. federal prosecutors allege 21 year old jack teixeira was risking us national security and the lives of us service members, allies and others to impress friends online, including on chat groups on the discord gaming platform. i'm in the six count grand jury indictment charging teixeira with willful retention and transmission of classified information. a revelation about the real time impact of teixeira's alleged leaking. this was a deliberate criminal act. the indictment explaining that teixeira's alleged leaks

included key details about the us providing military support for ukraine's fight against russia, including how that equipment would be transferred and used. teixeira worked as an it specialist for the massachusetts air national guard , earning a top secret security clearance in 2021. today, the justice department arrested jack douglas teixeira. prosecutors say teixeira was illegally accessing and transmitting top secret information for more than a year before its april arrest at his family's home and that his superiors warned him at least twice to stop accessing information beyond the scope of his primary duties. and if convicted, to share a faces up to 60 years in prison to share his attorney and his family declined to comment on his indictment. andrew. justin, thank you. meanwhile, russian hackers are being blamed for a global ransomware attack that hit several us government agencies, including the energy department. experts believe the hackers exploited a widely used

file transfer software. a homeland security official downplayed the attack, saying it was caught quickly. the louisiana office of motor vehicles was also hit in the attack, likely exposing the personal information of everyone with a driver's license in that state. in rome this morning, pope francis was released from the hospital, smiling in a wheelchair amid a swarm of reporters. he then stood to get into his car. the 86 year old is recovering from surgery to repair a hernia nine days ago. now to the murder of two girls in delphi, indiana. the suspect appearing in court amid claims that he confessed to the killings not once or twice, but allegedly six times. here's abc's andrea fujii. this morning, the suspect in the murder of two teen girls has allegedly made several confessions at a court hearing yesterday, prosecutors claimed richard allen made admission of guilt up to six times about his role in the deaths of best friends. abby williams and libby german in delphi, indiana, back

in 2017. these incriminated statements that came out in court today can be used both ways. the state is going to be looking to use them to corroborate a confession and the defense is going to be using them to support their theory that he is currently having mental health issues and needs treatment. but allen's attorneys acknowledge the statements but say they're not reliable, blaming them on allen's mental state in jail. the defense then asked for allen to be moved to a different facility. prosecutors allege the 50 year old was caught on a chilling recording on libby's phone moments before the girls deaths. i down there, the 13 and 14 year old's bodies were found near a hiking trail. allen was arrested five years later, connected to the case by a bullet found at the scene. and he was charged in october pleading not guilty. it's hard. how can somebody do that and then just go on living life like nothing happened? i don't understand. probably never will understand that. prosecutors did

not elaborate on the details of allen's confession as to whether or not he'll be moved to a different facility. the judge's decision is expected soon. the trial is set for january. andrew rhiannon andrea, thank you. the justice department will now investigate the controversial merger in the golf world. the wall street journal reports the feds are opening an antitrust investigation into the pga tour's deal with its saudi backed rival, liv golf. the pga, which originally dismissed any potential merger, says the deal will benefit players, fans and the game itself. president biden is touting progress in his push to eliminate so-called junk fees. those hidden charges that drive up prices for concert tickets during a white house meeting. ticketmaster and seatgeek committed to providing customers with the entire cost of their tickets up front. it comes after ticketmaster parent company live nation faced a firestorm over taylor swift ticket sales. biden calls it a win for consumers. the solution is what it's called all in

live at seven a on gma. we're back with a deadly attack near one of europe's most popular tourist sites, the neuschwanstein castle in germany. an american tourist is in custody after allegedly pushing two women down a steep slope. both victims were also americans. one of them, 21 years old, later died. police say the suspect tried to assault her before throwing her down the slope. the second victim tried to help her chaos at a victory parade for the nba champion denver nuggets. a police officer was hit by a fire truck that was

carrying players. that officer suffered a serious leg injury after being trapped under a tire and in a separate incident, officers responded to a shooting during the parade. two women were wounded. police say it was a targeted attack. we turn now to the serious new allegation against fighting champ conor mcgregor stemming from last week's nba finals game. this could be it that is it. it is over. donovan mcgregor this morning, mixed martial arts star conor mcgregor is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at game four of the nba finals in legal letters sent to mcgregor, the nba and the miami heat. the woman claims that during the game last friday, security guards working on mcgregor's behalf forced her into a vip bathroom. she claims in that bathroom, the ufc star aggressively kissed her before trying to force her into multiple sexual acts. she says she was able to escape after elbowing him multiple times. mcgregor denied the allegations through his attorney, who added mr. mcgregor will not be intimidated. in a statement, the ufc said it was aware of the allegations and said it will

continue to gather additional details and will allow the legal process to play out. the miami heat saying we are aware of the allegations and are conducting a full investigation. miami police says its special victims unit is now investigating. apparently he wants some. oh mcgregor was at the game as a guest of the nba and the heat and participated in a halftime skit. let's see jesus. during the skit, he punched the heat's mascot twice. the performer had to be taken to the hospital with head pain. in an appearance wednesday on live with kelly and mark, mcgregor said it was all scripted. that was part of the skit. it was all a skit. we were backstage all is well. it was just part of the show. it got blew up, you know, i recently made my acting debut and i'm not not a bad actor. more seriously, she the woman accusing mcgregor of assault, is seeking settlements with the nba. the heat and mcgregor in lieu of litigation. well, stocks are up this week. good news, but a new report sums up the pain that is being felt by 401. k investors in the last year. the average 401. k value last year

to 13 years in prison. we have new details overnight about the deaths of two people from california staying at a luxury resort south of the border. this morning, new questions about what's to blame for the mystery deaths of two americans in mexico. so we want to know exactly what happened, and we just don't know that yet. abby lutz and john heathcoat were staying at this $1,000 a night resort near cabo san lucas when they went to the hospital for suspected food poisoning. they were treated and sent back to their hotel where they were found dead. the next day. abby on the bed. john in the bathroom. she had been messaging her dad and told him she was feeling sick and went to the hospital and stayed one night on iv and felt so much better. and then she texted him monday night to say good night. love you. and then we hadn't heard from her again. the coroner says the pair had been dead for 10 to 11 hours and died from intoxication by a

substance to be determined. abby's family now putting the blame on the hotel. according to a gofundme account set up to help with funeral costs. the family says we have been told it was due to improper venting of the resort and could be carbon monoxide poisoning. but the hotel denies the allegation. hyatt which runs the resort, saying we do not believe that the cause of death was related to any issues with the hotel's infrastructure or facilities, including carbon monoxide or gas of any kind. adding out of respect for the families involved, we cannot provide any further details. it's the latest tragedy to strike vacationing families in mexico. back in october, three tourists died from carbon monoxide at a vacation rental in mexico city. and in 2018, an american couple in their two kids were killed after a gas leak in their condo outside cancun. as for the case of abby lutz and john haithco, the paramedics who responded told abc news they began to feel symptoms like hypoxia and a
