dan: thanks very much. we kept updating you with breaking news alerts just like this one. make sure you're getting the latest news and weather by downloading our abc7news bay area app. turn on the app notifications. ama: a san francisco resident says he doesn't know what else to do after unsuccessful calls to 311 and city agencies. dan: an un-housed women set up near the backside of his studio, blocking his shipping elevator. ama: debris is scattered everywhere two weeks before a big art show. j.r. stone was at the site where the business of -- with the business owner and shows the struggle. reporter: it's these items. >> i'm not sure what to do next. reporter: having this san francisco begging the city for help. >> and has become untenable. the garbage multiplies by the day. reporter: he has an art studio,

a gallery called american. messenger on the third floor of this building. the back entrance to his freight elevator is blocked by this debris. >> literally blockaded for more than a month. reporter: he says an unhoused woman set up outside, something those in the neighborhood also acknowledge and we witnessed when we arrive. the thought is that this is trash. the woman claims the items belong to her so no cleanup has taken place. >> it feels more rights than i do. reporter: one thing that's noticeable being out here is the terrible smell of all these items. as if they've been sitting here for a long time. the department of public works did not get back to us but the fire department tells abc 7 they have submitted a fire prevention complaint about the situation.

police told us, no actionable crime has been committed even though other unhoused individuals in the neighborhood told me that drugs are being used here. >> it's an active fentanyl camp out there. reporter: linder has filed a restraining order against the women and deputies served her today. he's unsure if that will do anything. linder is hosting a special art show on july 4. one creation after the other after the other. additional artists will be bringing in their works of art. >> i have to have that ada access and the freight elevator access to do business here. reporter: he says not being able to access the elevator could impact the show and he's now just hoping for help. j.r. stone, abc7news. dan: now to the busy day of action from the golden state warriors. the team now with the giant overhaul of its roster and still making moves less than an hour ago. ama: one move stands out above

them all. larry beil is here with the trade everyone is talking about. larry: stunning moved by the war years, acquiring the man most golden state fans despise. chris paul, that sends jordan poole to the washington wizards. a key part of the warrior's last title team. tremendous with steph curry. carried it over to the playoffs. his reward, a four-year contract extension. but the feel-good stories ended last preseason. dream on green punched him in training camp. the warriors never recovered from that. cool turned the ball over a lot. invisible on defense. it seemed clear jordan poole would be on his way out which brings us to chris paul. long history of battling steph curry, trying to be the warriors. curry has tormented him in recent years.

year long. san jose does its pride parade in august but a pair of different offense tonight got the party going early. lauren martinez takes us to the festivities. reporter: pride and progress were themes at two events in downtown san jose celebrating lgbtq+ community members and organizations. real estate alliance advocates for fair housing. >> it's important to get the allies on our side and to give them an understanding of who we are as a community, how to work with us, what we like as consumers. reporter: living in silicon valley doesn't isolate them from discrimination. >> a balloon company denied service to us. they weren't comfortable putting together a package of rainbow balloons. all we are fighting for is equal opportunity for housing in our communities. >> over 400 pieces of legislation have been introduced that are anti-lgbtq. reporter: evan lowe says he's fighting for rights on the state

and national level. >> back in 2008, voters passed proposition h which eliminated the rights of same-sex couples to marry. that is still in our constitution. reporter: he's authoring a bill to repeal proposition eight. while it's unenforceable now, if the supreme court were to overrule its marriage equality decisions, marriage rights for same-sex couples could be in jeopardy in california. >> every human being hopes to be in a leveling relationship. it's fundamental as human dignity. reporter: status emily member alex lee posted a pride event. >> it's important to have small events like this, recognizing seven incredible individuals and organizations. reporter: one organizer described pride month as a celebration and a fight. >> yes, i'm out in there are people that are fighting for my rights and making me feel visible. reporter: lauren martinez, abc7news. ama: on market street today, we

saw crews putting up fencing for sunday's pride parade. it will go to 8th street. several streets will be closed until the parade is over. some closures have aeady started with more coming tomorrow. we are the only place you can see san francis'pride parade broadcast live starting at 10:00 a.m. on sunday. dan: popping up at walnut creek city council meetings and there's a scramble to stop what they are saying. ama: the future of driverless cars. how reliable are those self-driving robo taxis? how fast are they spreading across california? dan: you may have heard of the so-called miracle drug owes and pick. there might be a much more natural solution for those who want to lose weight. that story as we con

dan: the walnut creek city council scrabbling to make changes after callers have been making anti-semitic statements. tim johns spoke with one of the councilmembers and tells us that this isn't just happening in walnut creek. >> i want to point out, jews are responsible for the negatives in the world. reporter: people phoning into public comment during the walnut creek city council meeting, spewing anti-semitism. >> you can't do a lot about that. you can give a warning and you can cut off for things like full garrity without warning. but there's a lot of latitude with freedom of speech. reporter: a councilmember that was specifically mentioned by one of the callers. he says many of them call and will argue if they are interrupted. >> that their rights are being

taken advantage of, they aren't being able to exercise freedom of speech, and threatening to take legal action. reporter: it seems to be part of a growing trend. similar events have happened in simone -- sonoma county and sacramento. many of the callers are from out-of-state and phone in using fake names, according to the anti-defamation league. anti-semitic reports have exploded both in california and around the country. >> those include everything from vandalism, harassment to assault and murder. reporter: wilkes says walnut creek is considering several possible solutions. >> how much do we want to allow these kind of open statements? do we want to go to pre-covid rules? reporter: the council unanimously condemned the callers actions, saying they

don't represent the values of walnut creek. >> we are a very open and welcoming community. we unanimously oppose hate speech or any kind of discrimination. reporter: tim johns, abc7news. dan: autonomous vehicles a making headlines in san francisco and not necessarily for the right reasons to get that's why we are making it to nights deep dive. our way of spending extra time on a topic or issue that we feel is worthy of your attention and more information. self-driving taxis are getting a lot of attention. but they've had problems. we've covered plenty of instances of the cars stopping for no reason. according to san francisco's fire chief, city firefighters are encountering one robo taxi every single day. on our 3:00 show, the chief said at some point this will have deadly consequences. >> >> the biggest concern is that someone will get really severely injured or killed

because we cannot properly respond to an incident or if they get in the way at an incident. we've gotten lucky so far. but it's only a matter of time before something really catastrophic happens. dan: city and state regulators seem ready to say full speed ahead. a panel looked at california's data on all kinds of a thomas vehicles. one panelist pointed out, while crashes grab the most attention, there are other issues tied to these vehicles. >> they can't really be separated from the traffic a cap -- impact as well. some don't necessarily produce across and still produce safety problems and interactions with other road users. dan: the california public utilities commission will take up whether to allow crews and way mode to expand their robo taxi operations in san francisco.

right now, they can only run in the overnight hours. if approved, the self-driving taxis could be around 24/7. ama: a mock funeral was held for san francisco castro theater. it was put on by a group upset about planned changes at the venue. multiple agencies have signed off on a plan from a new operator. the plan would remove the theaters existing seats. the seats have been a sticking point between the operator and locals who argue the seats are historic. as prescription weight loss drugs are gaining popularity, some social media influencers are touting what they are calling natures owes and pick. a supplement called burberry is helping them lose weight. it's a chemical found in many botanical products. small studies show success in decreasing body weight by three to 4% after about three months. >> that's not enough for it to be considered a weight loss medication but it certainly has

a more pronounced effect. in others, not very much. it's an overstatement. ama: it may work by lowering blood sugar in decreasing the absorption of carbohydrates. dietary supplements are not approved by the fda so be sure to talk to your doctor first if you're interested. dan: let's talk more about the weather. ama: we are getting closer to the weekend. spencer: we are indeed. we will get a little bit more sunshine coming our way but that's not happening for a while. we've got this low-pressure system center just offshore. that's pushing clouds and moisture on shore right now. we have some drizzle around the bay area. we have a warm up. most locations are several degrees warmer right now than at this time last night. live view from the exploratory a -- exploratorium camera. upper 50's right now at san francisco and oakland.

61 in mountain view. nice view from emeryville. you can see a few clouds in the distance there but they will get more widespread. temperatures in the u livermore live view from a rooftop camera. these are our forecast headlines. low clouds continue to push and let overnight. we can expect widespread drizzle tomorrow morning, especially near the coast. some of it falling right now. we will have sunnier and milder afternoons as the weekend approaches for sf pride. we already had widespread clouds pushing on shore. they will continue to push across the bay and fairly far inland overnight. by 6:00 tomorrow morning, we expect widespread patches of drizzle or get there could be a few damp spots out there on the roadways.

by midday or so, we will see clouds pulling back to the coastline, giving us sunshine in our inland areas. mid-50's. highs tomorrow, 60 at the coast. upper 60's around the bay. low to mid 70's inland. it continues to warm up gradually as we get into the weekend. mid to upper 70's inland. by sunday, inland 80 degrees right around the bay shoreline. highs on sunday mainly in the mid to upper 60's. look at how the warming continues after this weekend. tuesday, wednesday, thursday of next week, inland highs mid to upper 80's. upper 70's around the bay shoreline. low 60's on the coast. we will get that kind of warm for the weekend but we will get a steady progression of temperatures inching upward and more sunshine in our afternoon. dan: thanks. ama:
