temperatures are not as chilly as they were earlier. 10:00 a.m. we are cloud there and the rain is overhead as we head into the afternoon, clouds pull back to the coast but it is another cool june afternoon. 60's and mid 70's with the breeze picking up later today. we will have that forecast coming up. drew: kumasi: -- kumasi: are investigating after a man was shot and killed at the bart station at san francisco. around 8:30 p.m. they found man with gunshot wounds and he went to the hospital and later died. while investigators are piecing together what happened, witnesses say this situation is -- >> i see a young lady saying how beautiful she is. and next thing you know her boyfriend stood up and then he

is shot in the chest twice you know. kumasi: this an isolated incident. they say there is no threat to recovery. -- to the public. reggie: individuals are trying to find more clues to the inclusion of the titanic -- after days of searching all five people on the sub died. the u.s. navy likely heard the implosion on sunday the day the sub lost contact with the surface. jobina: but we understand that experts confirmed to abc news is that the deep sound was likely the implosion. they passed

guard. pieces were found yesterday morning 1600 eight from the front of the titanic. they say it it imploded sunday not long after it departed into the sea. they say there was possibly a failure in the subsystem after encountering intense water pressure. >> the debris is consistent with the catastrophic loss of the chamber. jobina: there were going to tour the ocean floor to see the titanic. ocean gate that owns the sub released a statement saying they grieve the loss of life and called all men on board true explorers. the main objective of the search crew now is to find as much debris as possible to figure out what exactly went wrong here. and they will try to recover the remains of the people on board and that is unfortunately not likely to happen now. kumasi: with this dominating headlines all week, we want to get a better idea of what it is like an side --

inside a submersible. we set down with an individual who did 17 submersible dives to the wreckage. >> al giddings experienced as an underwater cinematographer. his knowledge of ocean submersibles is valuable at a time where the rest of us know so little about how they operate underwater. and implosion, he explains, is the reverse of an explosion. >> this happens as opposed to this >> and implosion is under those pressures. it was very forgiving considering the other possibilities of how they might have died, it was less tragic. >> 4650 feet to the times, he is done this with the operation of academy sciences.

parade. many streets in san francisco will be closed until the parade is over. some closures have already started with her coming today. organizers are estimating about half a million people will visit san francisco for pride. the parade will go on market to a street for a celebration here at sid -- civic center. and we talked with the -- is tracking about 500 anti-lgbtq+ bills. >> i think this year, san francisco pride will draw the line on market street. you can come join us and say you are for human rights for all lgbtq people. you are either with us or you are against us because there is no moderate position when it comes to human rights for our community. that is the position for pride. we will make a huge statement sunday.

man. when they went into the home they found that man's 76-year-old mom and a dog dead. abc 7 news spoke with the neighbor but his live next door more than three decades. >> it's a tragic thing to happen. it is a shame because it was a beautiful family. beautiful neighbors. kumasi: so sad. the 84-year-old man was hurt but will be physically ok. they will have a town hall meeting sometime between now and july 2. reggie: organizers are hanging piste -- peace posters around san francisco encouraging individuals to sign them. that is after the gun battle between two cars leaving six people including four bystanders hurt. >> events like this can be a tragedy. but it does not have to stay as something sad. it is an opportunity where light

can be shined. we hope to cultivate the heart of the community of the bay area to come together in a time like this to make a determination for peace in our communities as well. reggie: the issue of gun violence is getting attention on capitol hill. mike thompson joined other members of congress to call out those who only speak about gun violence in mass shootings but failed to take meaningful action. >> they speak out on it and then all of a sudden, they are nowhere to be seen or pass legislation. >> citizenship has obligations and duties, to keep each other safe and make sure other people's rights are respected. the bottom line is we are failing that in america. reggie: according to the gun violence archive there's been more than 20,000 deaths in the u.s. from gun violence just this year. kumasi: this week we marched --

mark juneteenth. all this month we are celebrating black culture, freedom and resilience. in the east bay a woman is making history as the first black woman to lead uc berkeley police. she has about 140 officers and staff. she says she feels loved and honored as the first black woman in many if not all of her roles that has not always been the case. >> there were many times in my career where it was made evident and obvious where of is not welcome at the table but you cannot buy those things deter you. kumasi: after more than 22 years in public service she is not let anything do terror her even an insurrection. on that day, the capital place -- security detail for congressional leadership. she rose to the acting chief becoming the first black woman to lead capitol police. >> i want to say that i was able

to endure. i was successful at opening doors for others. i am excited to see what my next chapter looks like here at u.c. berkeley pd. kumasi: i got to ask her what she was most excited about in the role. she said she wants to make sure that their actions align with their words and they lead with a compassionate heart. a heart of service. it was really inspiring talking to her and thinking about her journey. she spent many years at u.s. capitol police and to think about that moment where all of us were here watching the insurrection unfold. she is working. she said you are trained, but you are never really ready for something like this. for her to be elevated to lead at a time like that was so challenging for her, but she said it is our faith that sustains her and her family who has what it heard.

she felt like she was ready to take that on and now she is ready to lead uc berkeley police. reggie: that is very interesting. i did not know that. kumasi: it has definitely been a journey. she said she is happy to be here and that so many people and women of color have reached out to her after seeing her in a minute addition and asking her around -- about the career field and feel encouraged to pursue that when it is not really a field where -- you want to see and need to see more women and people of color. jobina: is this online right now? kumasi: yes. jobina: all right. kumasi: check out the whole thing. drew: the most important thing to know with pride is when it will warm up. not this weekend but next weekend we have warm weather on the west coast including the bay area. we see above average temperature not this weekend, but the following weekend.

friday, june 23. reggie: we start with the forecast. drew: we have a live look with the san jose camera. overcast skies. temperatures a few degrees warmer than this time yesterday. beginning the morning in the mid-50's and low 60's now in the south bay. let's plan the day hour-by-hour and watch the cloud cover break down this morning. 10:00 a.m. we see we have a lot of clouds to deal with overhead. in the afternoon we see sunshine away from the coast. it is a mainly cloudy day. another day we have temperatures that are cool with bid 60's low 70's today. we checked the forecast coming up in a minute. and let's check in with traffic with jobina. jobina: good news everything is in the grain. around 14 miles per hour to travel west bound 580. speeds pick up quickly after that.

sunday is one of the largest pride celebrations in the organizers are estimating half of a million people will visit san francisco for pride. the parade will go along and to a street for celebration at the civic center. crews that were putting up street blockades were in full force yesterday. some of the closures have already started with more coming today. we talked to sf pride director suzanne ford on abc seven at 7:00 this week about the many festivities this weekend. >> friday as the trans march and we take a dog -- day offer that and then we keep working. on saturday i want everyone to know to come out to the civic center because princess nokia will arrive and we need everyone to show up on saturday. gloria: public transit agencies are providing extra service on

abc7news.com/ride or wherever you stream abc 7. kumasi: san jose businesses are hoping to get a boost with the block parties that draw businesses downtown. they had their first block party that brought in a impressive amount of people into the area. the area in general has been quieter than businesses would like. abc7news spoke with an owner saying that the events will be key to have a success. >> that is the number one thing drawing people downtown. having something to do. if we do not have events there is not much going on but if we draw people to come they will come in and have a good time. >> the local businesses create the tax pace that provide services to the neighborhoods across the area. kumasi: the night market is one event that will happen weekly throughout the summer. you can catch it every thursday through the end of august. reggie: a group opposed to the changes coming to san francisco

castro theatre is getting their voices heard in a creative way. yesterday they had a mock funeral outside of the theater. multiple agencies have signed off on a plan to have operators of the theater remove the existing seats. the seat have been a sticking point between the operator and local residents who say this eats are historic. they filled the room as a -- removal of the seats will take away from the landmark and film culture of the theater. castro theater is one of the oldest theaters in san francisco. this year marks the one 31st anniversary since it opened the doors. kumasi: city council is making changes after a series of anti-semitic comments in the council meetings. >> i want to point out that -- is responsible for a lot of that -- things in this world. kumasi: city council members have condemned the comment saying they do not represent the city values. councilmember kevin wilke who is

jewish said it is hard to interrupt with people for colors when they are interrupted and because of free speech laws. >> we cannot do a lot about that. we can give a warning and you can cut off for things like vulgarity without warning, but there is a lot of latitude with freedom of speech. kumasi: one possible solution proposed by wilke and another councilmember would be to end online public comment and require anyone wanting to speak to a p or before the council in person. reggie: today is a second day of a two day hearing in a train durant met in ohio that least hazardous chemicals in the air february. the engineer raised concerns about the size of the train for the disaster but the yard master pushed big concern to the side and said this is what they want. during ntsb hearing yesterday they said following that are around men he said he did not know the train was carrying toxic chemicals and his team did not have her -- proper

kumasi: welcome back. baton amiss vehicles are making headlines in san francisco and not for good reasons. robo taxi is being hotly debated as they occasionally have problems. they have been reporting on unexpectedly stopping at intersections and according to the fire chief they encounter one robo taxi every day. they say at some point this may have a deadly consequence. >> the biggest concern is that someone will get severely injured or killed because we cannot properly respond to an incident or if they get in the

way of an incident we really have gotten lucky so far, but it is only a matter of time before something really catastrophic happens. kumasi: yesterday a panel in san francisco looked at california's reporting on a taunt amiss vehicles.there is a highly regulated program that companies are participating in and they are collecting data. one of the panelists pointed out that while crashes get the most attention there are other issues with the self-driving vehicles. >> they really need to be separated from the traffic impact as well because some traffic do not necessarily produce crash but they produce safety problems and interactions with others. kumasi: next week the cali public utilities commission will take up whether to allow them to expand their robo taxi operations in san francisco. they concurrently run overnight for general public riders.
