102 in cloverfield. the heat is not quite so intense as yesterday at this hour and not so widespread. many locations were in the triple digits and now in the low to mid 90's. we have a brisk onshore flow that will have the effect of moderating the heat a little bit that we may have to wait until tomorrow to feel cooler. right now looking at the 24 hour temperature range, it is several degrees cooler across the bay area than this time yesterday. nonetheless, even though the cooling has began, we have a heat advisory until 11:00 tonight for virtually all of the area. heat illnesses are possible. i will have more on the cool down later. spencer. where people are heading to the beaches to escape the heat, there is a warning about the water. a beach hazard statement runs through 11:00 tonight. water temperatures are cooler than average and that means people may experience cold water

local fire departments are warning people about the dangers. dangers like this brush fire that you see here on the screen. . it happened this afternoon in hercules,, investigators say initial evidence indicates fireworks sparked the fire. abc7 news reporter cornell barnard went to san bruno where fireworks are legal and fire officials are on high alert. cornell: celeste celestin showed us what her family bought at these fireworks stand to celebrate july 4. she says it is all about safety when letting them off. >> nowhere near the grass cutter anything dangerous. >> a bucket of water and fire extinguisher nearby. >> fountain's shooting up about yeah hi cornell: vendors are selling safe fireworks in the corner of the mall parking my. all of them, nonprofits like

killed a man in san francisco. it happened in the bayview district on 3rd street and kirkwood avenue shortly before 11:30 last night. police have made no arrests and have not released any information yet about the victim or what led to the shooting. happening tomorrow, a drug arrest policy change is set to go into effect in san francisco. people cited for drug use or possession for a second time will be required to go to a special court called "the community justice center." it includes a courtroom and social service center. it can refer people to drug treatment and mental health program's and job mayor london breed last week announced the policy change by the district attorney's office. tesla is reporting a record spike in car sales compared to a year the company says second-quarter deliveries rose 83% from a year earlier, that is after cutting prices several times on its models.

gathered to talk about the biggest problems facing our communities right now. new york's mayor and the los angeles mayor spoke at the global black economic forum. both say homelessness and the asylum crisis are two of the biggest issues america faces. >> all mayors must come up with a clear urban agenda on how we ensure the resources coming to the states find their way into the cities. that is so important. the migrant asylum seeker issue, every mayor should lift his voice. >> i loved being in congress, but the reason i wanted to be mayor, is because i am very, very worried about us repeating something that happened in the 1990's, and that is the criminalization of black folk. in the 1990's folks were criminalized because of crack. my worry is that people will be criminalized because they are living on the streets. j.r.: the panel also discussed economic empowerment, creating

more programs to support small businesses and businesses of color. i am joined right now by spencer christian. lots to talk about, triple digit temperatures, fireworks, fog? spencer: triple digits three days in a row, but that is coming to an end. let me show you a panel of today's high temperatures. so far it looks like we have gotten up the 103 in fairfield. 101 in concord. that is very hot. we had far more warm locations at triple digits yesterday, so the heat is receding just a little bit. the 24 hour temperature change shows several degrees cooler in virtually all bay area locations right now than at this time yesterday but again, still quite warm. westward under blue skies 70 degrees in san francisco. 80 nine at san jose and palo alto. at the golden gate there is fog.

layer developing and some patchy drizzle near the coastline, so early tomorrow morning there will be low clouds and fog near the coast and debate, but it will clear away quickly. lows will be in the upper 50's and mid-60s. pretty mild overnight. tomorrow as temperatures will not be nearly so high as they have been the last three days, in land highs in the mid-80's to the mid-90's. warmest will be the inland east bay at 94. antioch, 92. around the bay, highs in the mid to upper 70's. at the coast, low to mid 60's. tuesday, fourth of july will be a sunny day, cooler than tomorrow will be. so cooler for the fourth. wednesday, the cooldown continues, wednesday, thursday, mild conditions. not very warm but not very called. it gets cooler as we approach friday and saturday, inland highs will barely reach 80 degrees. cooler and comfortable weather is on.
