8:13 am
well, now that travel demand has bounced back to prepandemic level, major airlines like delta and united have raised the number of miles or points it costs to book an award flight. so that means that bonus of 60,000 miles for opening a new co-branded credit card may not go as far as it once did. travel experts recommend paying more frequently with a general travel card like the amex platinum or chase sapphire to give yourself more flexibility and points you earn with those cards could go towards booking reward travel with several airlines instead of just one. but, of course, be careful not to take on too many credit cards. financial experts warn no rewards are worth it if you carry a balance especially with credit card rates at 20%. >> whit: important information. alexis, thank you so much. we appreciate it. now a check of the weather with somara theodore. good morning. >> somara: good morning. much of the country try tock figure out ways to beat the heat today. triple-digit heat index values for much of the southeast
