tomorrow morning, expect that both of those 50s and 60s at noontime. you are looking at sunshine inland, but still a bit gray on the coastline for the afternoon. soon it is going to be a little bit warmer, cooler excuse me, a wide range of temperatures is cooler than today. and by 7 p.m, we're looking at 50 to 80. that summer scorcher for saturday, the hottest day, 106 degrees in our hotspot like antioch and fairfield up to 105 in livermore, 101 in santa rosa. excessive heat watch already posted for friday morning to sunday night. solano county until monday night as highs will soar upper 90s to near 110, significantly increasing the risk of heat illnesses. i'll be back with more on that extreme heat coming up. dan dan: you can get the latest forecast and weather warnings any time you wish. >> a suspected arsonist is suspected in vallejo. the person was caught because of

a community member's quick thinking and martial arts move. the suspect later admitted to the crime. j.r. stone is in vallejo tonight with all the details. >> was able to stop somebody from doing worse. j.r.: alex belos describing the actions he took saturday as he witnessed flames tearing through this field, but also the moments he saw the man set it on fire. >> i saw somebody jumping. you can say in happiness. and he was poking at the grass. looked weird. and then all of a sudden, we see flames popping out literally right in front of you. >> what did he throw? >> a flare. >> he was on the ground with emergency dispatch moments later, but when he watched the person get into a tesla after attempting to start another fire in this area, he went to make a citizen's arrest. >> pulled him out. >> tried to grab his hand behind his back. and then i tried to go for an

is too long. >> tonight, a warning about an aggressive sea otter off the coast of santa cruz. the southern sea otter attacking surfers. experts from the california department of fish and wildlife are calling the sea otter's behavior concerning and unusual. the professor ebert says the behavior could be caused by hormonal surges or the otter may be searching if food. >> they don't want to be around humans but if they have an association from the time they were born, that sea otter may not have any fear of people. it might be more aggressive. >> a team is currently working to capture and find a safe and permanent home for that sea otter. >> awfully cute. >> moving on to the weather now. things definitely heating up. >> dangerous heat coming for the weekend.

sandia patel. sandia: it's going to be stifling. let's take a look at what we're expecting. area of high pressure nudging westward. and that's what's going to bring us that extreme heat that we are expecting especially this weekend. now, friday, those temperatures go up into the 90's and 100's. today the hottest spots were in the mid to upper 90's. look at what happens on saturday. this is the hottest day with 106 in antioch. 110 up in ukiah. on sunday sizzling unland -- inland. here are some safety tips. stay hydrated. we're talking about water. never leave people or pets inside vehicles. they get a lot hotter. try to stay in the shade if you can and no sign of heat and illnesses. in particular of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, heat exhaustion, you can drink water

move to a.c. especially if you have nausea. but with heat stroke, if there's no sweating and high body temperature call 911 immediately. this is the number one weather-related killer in the country. you will notice that up and down the state we have heat advisories, ex-setsive heat watches in case you're traveling. temperatures are going to go down tomorrow as this trough is going to pass to our north. we have mist and drizzle. you can see the fog sitting right near the coast and the bay. temperatures inland in the coastline, we're in the 50's. foggy view from our golden gate bridge cameras. a little cooler tomorrow afternoon. intense heat this weekend with the possibility of records particularly on saturday. we could see a few even though the records are pretty high in many cities. tomorrow morning watch out for that drizzle at 5:00 as we head towards noon.
