away from contract negotiations. ups is saying the same about the union. reggie: heavy rains, deadly floods in scorching attempts dominating the headlines and we can add tornadoes to the list. four on the extreme weather. kumasi: the headline is the heat, a lot of cities can see triple digit temperatures as we head into the weekend. reggie: i saw in houston, the feels like temperature is 90 degrees and that was before 5:00 a.m. drew: that is lovely. reggie: it is thursday. typical temperatures, and tomorrow at heat accelerates. as we head toward sfo, the marine layer is getting shallow. sunshine is going to fast. temperatures are typical and waking up to numbers mainly in the 50's so it is comfortable right now but future weather is

today is another round of practicing. negotiation's broke down late last week between ups and it teamster represented workers. economic expert told households and business will be impacted. it won't be able to get the necessary supplies and get anything shipped to them. the teamsters say they want an agreement that guarantees better pay for workers and resolves health and safety concerns. local workers say they need this resolution especially in the bay area. >> it is costly -- costly to live in the bay area we have to pay a premium to live. >> the teamsters contract covers more than -- many workers. ups claims they made a historic proposal based on industry leading pay but both sides have

not being able to come to a deal . preparing for the possibility of a strike in just a few weeks. francisco police will release body camera from last weekend dolores hill bomb at the committee members accused officers of overreacting. in previous years, there have been major injuries and there was one death. this year, san francisco police prepared by setting up barricades and setting up officers. residence argued officers -- police chief phil scott says things escalated when people launched fireworks at ox -- officers and threw bottles at them and even punched and spit on them. >> we cited for brazen, and dangerous and unlawful behavior. reggie: more than 100 teens and young adults ended up being

he escaped monday night and the family says the man contacted them, demanding money in order to get him back. the health of police, the family set up a meeting and demand was arrested when he showed up with norm. the dog's back home and the suspect book on charges including extortion. kumasi: a man who police say confessed to setting 15 fires was made -- is in custody. the suspect is accused of starting nearly 30 fires. morgan hill police say they are expert -- investigating 20 subissues fires and get more police say they believe the man is possible for eight fires there. reggie: there are concerns about the extreme heat bearing on much of the country including excessive heat in the bay area. the heat alerts are posted from washington state to new mexico and from texas to florida in the

northeast is dealing with flooding and this is all happening as tornadoes hit chicago. jobina is tracking all of this. jobina: from one end of the country to the next, the extreme weather is making headlines impacting many people. at least five confirmed tornadoes hit the chicago area last night, damaging several homes. the city's airports facing ground stops. video shows hundreds of people taking shelter in a cons course at o'hara national airport. no storms shifting east overnight. people across vermont are racing to clean up from this week's disastrous floods before more rain arrives today. thousands of people have lost homes and businesses and the recovery could take years and in some cases, decades, storms are
