with this sticky forecast. spencer: it is making us it is important to stay cool. let's take a look at our current temperatures. 100 degrees in danville. 103 in livermore. all around the bay mid to upper 80's right now. 95 in fremont. it is hot out there. we are under an excessive heat warning for virtually all of the state of california. in the bay area, we are under an excessive heat warning until 11:00 tomorrow night for all locations except for communities around the bay shoreline and on the coast. even at nighttime, low temperatures will drop into the 60's in the valleys and 70 in the hills. it will be uncomfortably warm. numerous locations tomorrow inland at or above 100 degrees

second day of the blues and brews beer festival. tents were already in place from the day before. >> les that we had our pre- and the heat did not stop people from coming out and enjoying live music and beer in the park. ryan: jennifer is one of the coordinators of the event and said most of the festival will be held in the shade. the festival installed a large tent to provide shade but they also put several smaller tents up to offer more places away from the sun. >> we wanted people to enjoy the shady spots under the trees. our community partner is sponsoring the misters. ryan: the state unveiled a new website where people can go to learn about heat and safety tips. >> the experts advise us that extreme heat will continue to get hotter in california with the potential of causing more heat related illness. ryan: it leaves people like her

hoping for cooling weather soon. >> i am trying to enjoy it. dion: that was ryan curry reporting. in the north bay, the hot weather brought out crowds to santa rosa's spring lake lagoon. you can see people getting relief from the heat and enjoying fun in the water. temperatures and -- parts of santa rosa were expected to reach 100 degrees. you can protect yourself in extreme heat by staying hydrated, wearing sunscreen and of boarding the sun for extended periods of time. we want to take a live look at the pg&e power outage website where you can see the concentration of outages is in the oakland area. pg&e said it has no plans for public safety power shut off this weekend. those typically happen during extreme heat and wind and all the utility to turn off power

lines so they do not ignite wildfires. during high heat days, bart often runs trains at slower speeds and today is no exception. bart is asking people to take 10 extra minutes in their plan travel time for delays expected through 6:00 this evening. heat can cause the train's tracks to shift. you can track the temperatures where you live with the same tools that our abc 7 weather team uses. you can find them on the abc 7 bay area app. in santa rosa, a large oak tree branch fell and injured six people who were sitting at a picnic table. one was left with major injuries while another was moderately hurt. the four others, slightly injured. >> after years of drought and then moisture this winter the trees tend to soak up a lot of moisture, hold them in their branches and the branches become too heavy.

it is nearly impossible to gauge when any of these limbs would fall. dion: the fire department sent out several absences. all six people were taken to hospitals. moving to developing news. two shootings on bay area freeways left two people injured including an eight-year-o in oakland. the shooting happened on eastbound 580 near harrison et last night. the child was caught in t crossfire of a shooting between a dark gray sedan and a room colored suv. chp tells abc 7 news the eight-year-old boy was riding in a car that was not involved in the shooting. he is the third child to be hit by a stray bullet in oakland in the past four days. >> the child was driven to the hospital and was later transported to the children's hospital. dion: chp says it is still investigating and no arrests have been made.

officers believed the two suspected vehicles might have exited the freeway at park boulevard. in the second shooting, a woman was shot in the leg while traveling southbound on interstate 280 at 1:00 p.m. yesterday. investigators say at least three shots were fired toward her suv. sky 7 was above the scene yesterday. the woman was able to pull over on the shoulder of the freeway. no word on any arrests. new developments now. the fbi announced the san mateo woman who was kidnapped in mexico is now safe. monica de leon barba is on the way back to the u.s. now to be reunited with her family and her dog after eight months in captivity. the fbi set her captors let her go last night. she was kidnapped here while lara while walking home with her dog. no arrests have been made but the investigation continues.

headlines. dangerous weekend heat remains with us tomorrow. stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity between 1:00 and 6:00 p.m. cooling relief will arrive next week. that is good to know. tonight, a few thin clouds pushing from the coast to our inland areas but not bring any cooling relief. temperatures near the bay will be in the upper 50's to the low 60's. that is pretty mild for overnight. as you push inland, upper 60's in many locations. it will be uncomfortably warm overnight in many communities. highs tomorrow just as high as today if not higher. numerous triple digit readings. cloverdale, 108. east bay, 103. livermore, 104. around the bay shoreline, we could see 90 degrees. this excessive heat morning remains in effect until 11:00 tomorrow night for all of the
