spencer has a look at the weather. how long will it last? spencer: here is a look at tomorrow. you can see at 7:00 a.m. we will have light fog. and sunshine. 60 around the bay. by noon it will be 90's inland. 76 will be the temperature at the shoreline. it will be hot tomorrow. up to 100 degrees. hot around the bay. 80 degrees or higher. by 7:00 p.m., 88 degrees. 70 around the bay shoreline. as an end, it will be another hot day. cooling after that. i will talk about that later. dion: some of the hottest temperatures today were found in the east bay, reaching one

hundred in some spots. rather than stay inside some people came up with ways to keep cool. we continue our coverage now with our reporter. reporter: from the fountains to the fans, even the ice cream. >> i like the pineapple. reporter: folks across the east bay were looking for any way to cool off. >> i sat here because there is a fan and a little movement. but it does feel humid. reporter: this fountain would usually be packed, but instead it is closed for repairs with spiderwebs covering the drinking fountain. >> they have been trying to get it back running again. right now it is on and off. reporter: the city says the ultraviolet lamp has failed which shut the system down. it helps to disinfect the water. >> i would tell people to stay-at-home and stay cool.

angeles. this is beautiful. reporter: in the east bay, abc7 news. dion: pleasant hill hosted the annual blues and brews festival. stay cool took on all kinds of forms but for some it meant going for a swim. as ryan shows us, the heat did not stop people from going outside. reporter: the sun was not playing around, temperatures in the triple digits in many spots and one of those was in pleasant hill. >> drinking a lot of water. reporter: kathleen was on her morning walk. but this time it included shade. >> i come out and i get a coffee , a march, and i look at people and i say hi. reporter: elsewhere, people using the pool.

it was the second day of the blues and brews festival. what's new is the intense heat. >> we had our pre-party last night. the heat did not stop people from coming out and enjoying the beer in the park peter -- park. reporter: jennifer says most of the festival will be in the shade. the festival installed a large tent to provide shade but they also put smaller tents up two offer more places out of the sun. >> we wanted people to enjoy the shady spots under the trees. our community partner is sponsoring the ministers. reporter: the state has unveiled a new website where people can go to learn about the heat and some safety tips as the state continues to see heat events each year. dion: the extreme heat will continue to get harder but -- with the potential to cause more heat related illnesses and

death. reporter: it leaves people hoping for cooler weather soon. >> it is what we got so i am trying to enjoy it. dion: in the north bay, the hot weather brought out crowds to santa rosa spring lake lagoon. people got relief from the water. temperatures were expected to reach 100 today. the north bay is experiencing some of the hottest temperatures in the bay area. because of the weather. the heat can cause train tracks to shift. now a reminder that you contract the temperatures where you live with the same tools are weather team uses. use the abc7 bay area app. and in santa rosa, a large oak tree branch fell and injured s people at a picnic table.

they h reserved the space at spring lake regional park and they heard a crack before the tree fell. one person had major injuries. four others were slightly injured. >> there was a drought, then you get extreme moisture, so the trees had to soak up a lot of moisture in their branches and it became too heavy. it is almost impossible to know if the limbs will fall. dion: they ambulances and all six people were taken to hospitals in the area. the park staff will be cleaning up the scene. two shootings on bay area freeways left two people injured, including an eight year old boy. a shooting happened on eastbound five eating near harrison last night. investigators day that the child was caught in the crossfire in a shooting between a dark sedan and a maroon colored suv.

the chp tells us that the was in a car that was not involved in the shooting. he is the third child to be hit by a stray bullet in oakland in the past four days. in the second shooting, it woman was shot while traveling southbound on interstate 280 near alameda boulevard at 1:00 p.m. yesterday. investigators say three shots were fired at her suv. sky the woman was able to pull over on the freeway. no word yet on arrests. new text messages by antioch police officers have been released. according to the east bay times, and 128 page document was submitted in court and was full of offensive communications between 12 officers. the interactions included racism and anti-semitism, all exchanged while on the clock.

avoid outdoor activity between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and we can expect cooler weather arriving for the middle of next week. and there is the overnight forecast showing some high clouds passing over with a little bit of low clouds coastline, but not much of a marine layer. it has been compressed. so overnight lows in the 50's and mid 60's for most of our area. 70, antioch tomorrow. triple digits tomorrow from 105 over to the east bay, 104 in antioch, 103 in livermore, and nearly 90 at the bay shoreline. again, it will be another hot day inland. and toasty around the bay as well. here is the seven-day. as you can see, we will ease a little bit on monday with highs reaching only into the upper 90's.

dion: lions, tigers and dogs, oh my. there was an animal themed safari as a fundraiser today. for 80 years, a local organization has provided trained dogs. >> they raise our puppies from basically eight weeks to 16 months of age, teach them basic skills, and without the puppy raisers we would have no mission. dion: the event also served as a learning opportunity for that guided dogs dressed in costumes. many participated in games and even braille activities.

the show is lighting up the skyline this weekend. tomorrow will be the final night for the installation, celebrating the 90th birthday of the landmark and being put on as part of a summer series. the final one will be at the end of the month with the lasers coming out from their fairmont hotel. -- the fairmont hotel. we have an update on 4000 beagles rescued last year from a breeding facility. the humane society helped them to find permanent homes. this week, some of them celebrated one week of freedom. reporter: you may remember the story of these beagles, 4000 of them rescued from a breeding and testing facility after an undercover investigation. the humane society of finding them forever homes. >> for something of this magnitude, this is what the animal rescue team does. reporter: cameras capturing the
