antioch police racist text messaging scandal. racist messages targeted not only public citizens, but the police chief. mended delk as del jo is in the --amanda is in the studio. >> in response to the new report, the police chief told us that while he was very bothered he has very encouraged saying the police department is on the road to recovery. much like the previous two reports the new one details text messages between antioch police officers also contain racist language homophobic slurs and racist tropes against muslims and jews. the big difference this time, the texts were not just directed at suspects but towards their own police chief, stephen ford.

investigating the antioch police department. reggie: thank you. a traffic alert for this weekend you will want to know about early. this involves interstate 80. all eastbound lanes will be closed from friday starting at 9:00 p.m. through monday morning. there will be detour routes in place. this is all part of a caltrans project to upgrade that part of the freeway by the end. 3 other closures will happen in august and september. reducing pollution by reducing congestion on the richmond-san rafael bridge -- council leaders are calling for a third lane to be added to the upper deck. that means the current bike lane on the upper deck would close during the morning commute for cars. they would add a zipper barrier on the lower deck allowing
