previous experience at the san francisco police department. he has not given a reason about why he is planning to retire, but did issue a statement saying i am proud of what we have accomplished and firmly believe the groundwork has been laid for organizational success. i know that our work to align us with the tenants of procedural justice and constitutional policing will keep the department headed in the right direction. i sincerely hope our engagement with the community will continue and flourish. the announcement of his retirement comes as his department is being investigated for a racist texting scandal, something the contra costa public depend or gush defender says 40% of the police force is involved in. the city is moving forward. >> we will have a search for a city manager. you're bringing on a consulting firm for the recruitment of

district attorney nancy o'malley filed a manslaughter charge against the officer. the judge allowed this case to move forward but added i don't under any circumstances do i see 12 people saying the evidence here will be sufficient to support a verdict. i just don't see it. michael raines is the fletcher attorney. >> the only right thing to do is to make sure that cops get a fair break. >> he was in charge of assigning a prosecutor but in this he provided for the defense, year veteran of the san francisco public defender's office. pamela price brought in as her assistant dish attorney. mr. ballou told ford, he wrote, i don't give a damn what the judge said. they better google me. he wrote i explained that officer fletcher had the same right of self-defense that any defendant would have.

>> this is the highest concentration of domestic workers in the country and we are huge part of the everyday people make the city work like the people on strike today. reggie: writers and actors are fighting for contracts taking -- preventing ai from taking their jobs. they are also fighting for better pay when working on streaming services like netflix. because of the strike, actors and writers will not be attending san diego comic con. more than two dozen panels at several signings have been canceled, or sing fans to adjust their plans. >> i had a plan to get and after signing and everything. but if it means that at some point they will be able to pay for themselves, their family, have a living wage, it is not -- it just means it gives me the opportunity to enjoy other things at the con. reggie: the city is getting ready to welcome thousands of fans. buildings are plastered with posters of popular tv shows and movies.
