up in the cloverdale. very hot in our inland areas and that heat advisory that the unmeasured early will be in effect until 11:00 tonight for all of these areas that includes the north bay interior mountains, the east bay interior valleys, the east bay hills and now -- and eastern santa clara the mountains. and the risk of illness has increased under conditions like this. if there is any good news about fire dangers, is that our fire danger index is only low to moderate right now and that will get better as the cooling kicks in tomorrow. i will have more details later. >> firefighters say hot and dry conditions have contributed to several grass fires this morning. cornell barnard takes a look at how crews got a handle on the fires while others try to escape the weekend heat.

got the attention of drivers on the all jawon pass early saturday, it was this grass fire. travelers on interstate 580 grabbing video of the smoke and flames moving across the hillside. >> it came out of our house and i saw four distinct columns. gauff says it was actually for fires over an 8 mile stretch which burned about 55 acres of open space. the chp tweeted asking drivers to proceed with caution on westbound 580. the chp suspected possible arson but cap i believed with temperatures spiking around 100°, hot and dry conditions are creating some easy fuel for fire. press this morning, it could have been somebody dragging a chain, i don't think it is suspicious because with the amount of traffic around, everything is drying out. the wind will start picking up a little bit and fuel is starting to dry out. it will get a little bit more busy. >> it took about five hours to put the fires out.

temperatures and their quality with the very same tools that spencer uses. traffic is moving along the bridge now after an 18 hour closure that ended early this morning. a man suffering from a mental health issue was safely rescued from underneath the bridge at 7:00 a.m.. all of this started at about 1:00 friday afternoon and that led the highway patrol to close the lower eastbound lane. the closure caused major gridlock throughout the bay area. ? officials told abc7news anchor gloria rodríguez this was a necessary safety move. >> unfortunately it did create a lot of traffic congestion. we are apologetic of that but the individual safety along with our risk your safety was the primary concern. >> they will be no way up there

was unsteady with a when he ended up in that canal. the driver was the only person inside. fire fighters and it took about 45 minutes to get him out of that pickup, they had to cut the roof off and it was difficult to get the man cap because of the angle of the vehicle. he was taken by helicopter to a trauma center in good condition. new details tonight as they do with contaminated water. a boil water is still in place but napa county officials say the first test of that shows no e. coli contamination. do more tests need to be negative in order for that county to lift the boil water? e. coli was detected in the sample from a local water treatment plant on thursday. e. coli can cause abdominal pain along with diarrhea and nausea. water filling station is available. the community came together in oakland this morning to support an ice cream cart vendor after he was robbed at gunpoint last week. the alameda county fire department teamed up with the

practice winter from soccer fans in the bay area. the preseason match between fc barcelona at levi stadium in santa clara has been called off. that is after a significant part of the barcelona squad came down with a stomach bug. the decision to cancel was announced just hours before tonight's match. ticket holders be refunded. tonight's game was supposed to be the first international match since mexico and cutter played on july 2.

the oakland community group given a six point out proposed to redevelop the site. these groups want to make sure they have a seat at the table. faith organizations, nonprofits and horrible housing advocates are meant to destress a community benefits agreement for the project. the proposal is being led by the african-american sports entertainment group. just because had ideas about what they wanted the land to become and have used oakland residents are able to benefit. >> we want to see the residence here at their needs met. the coliseum should provide affordable housing, good quality jobs, environmental protection and the debate -- environment objections. they are hoping to keep the athletic's in the city by pushing forward with the howard terminal ballpark plan. the athletics have signaled their plans to move to vegas. either way, the coliseum could be vacant in the near future.

where you can expect detours and delays and course, lots of road lots of road closures throughout the city until the early afternoon. various street closures are scheduled for several areas including fisherman's wharf, tht and recommended -- sunset and mission district. this afternoon, the san francisco boys course honor the life of tony bennett. the new york-based celebrity who left his heart in san francisco died just yesterday at the age of 96. the course the boys course had a chance to perform several times during his life. including a joint performance with the girls chorus in 2012 inside city hall. that celebrated the 50th anniversary of his blood san francisco song.

here it is looking out over san francisco. 59° in the city. 74 in oakland. 82 in mountain view. mid to upper 80's in san jose and palo alto. a nice view from the mountain looking down toward the bay. mid 90's right now in santa rosa. 102 concord and livermore. a nice view from emeryville. looking westward. we can see a few high clouds passing over. those will increase overnight. coastal fog and high clouds overnight. cooler at the bay tomorrow. still kind of hot in land tomorrow. all areas will cool down a little bit going into next week. overnight, look for an increase in high clouds and some low clouds and fog will push to the coastline. there is a chance of spotty early morning patchy drizzle. it won't last very long. overnight lows will be on the mild to almost uncomfortable side an error inland areas. lots of mid-60's as overnight
